Defective fuel pump almost for sure, if the car has over 100,000 miles it is certain the pump is defective, the pump is located inside the fuel tank.

How to do a fuel pressure test on 2009 chevy cobalt

There is a shrader valve on the fuel rail. You can hook a guage to it and cycle the fuel pump with the key. Shrader valve looks like a tire valve stem. Should have a plastic cap on it and most are on drivers side.

Bad fuel injection symptoms

Are my injectors clogged or faulty or is there a sensor issue? How do we know without testing ! and depressed shrader valve fuel dispensed, isn't the proper way to test fuel pressure . Sounds a whole lot like you need to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop.

My car will intermittently not want to start it turns over but wont start but sometimes its fine i was thinking it could be the fuel pressure regulator so i was going to do a fuel pressure test to confirm...

If you don't have a shrader valve, you have to put a "T" pipe on the connection to the rail. If you want to just check the pump, you can remove the regulator and adapt to the regulator port on the rail. Most gauge sets include this kind of hardware, or else you can find one at your local parts store.

I have 2003 ford expedition, when engine is cold my expedition is hard to started... what should i do..

Sounds like you have a fuel pressure issue. These trucks are bad about bleeding all the fuel pressure off when the engine is shut of but will run fine when started. the only good way to check this is to install a fuel pressure gauge on the shrader valve on the fuel rail. Once you get it isntalled start the engine and let it run for a minute or so,shut the engine off and it should hold pressure,if it bleeds off quickly it means the check valve on the pump is leaking and it will need a fuel pump.

Not getting enough fuel pressure how could you test it without the tools to test it

find the shrader valve on the fuel rail push down on center like if letting air out of a tire if gas prays out with pressure, then your pump is good if you have any kind of pressure it will run if there is just a trickle then the fuel pump has to be bad.
