Question about 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse
Lt sounds very much like you have bent a valve stem. There is a quick way to check the probability of this, firstly get a peice of wood, about 50mm x 50mm and about 6oomm long (or 2x2 and2ft long in old money) With the engine idleing place one end of the peice of wood on the top of the cam cover, (thats where you put the oil in) and the other placed against your ear. you will be able to hear the valves rattle if they are bent, and sorry mate, if thats the case, it's an engine head rebuild or replace with either a new block or one from the wreking yard.
