Question about 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander XLS
Why would you want to ?? anyways the trick is disconnect the battery and wait a half hour. This discharges the computer memory. Then you need to figure out how to get the door panel off without breaking anything. Then just unplug the connector. Note you SRS light will stay on when done

SOURCE: disable passenger airbag
Ran into experienced Honda mechanic who simply detached wires in the proper places. No shop will touch this because of liability concerns. Later models might have more sophisticated back up.

Pull your airbag fuse out (It might be labeled Airbag, or SRS)
This will have your airbag warning light stay on in your dash, until you put the fuse back in.
WARNING : I did NOT tell you that... Don't worry there is no way the air bags can go off just by removing or replacing the fuse, but I'm just covering my bases here. In the event of an accident, I don't want to be the guy that told you to pull the fuse out (this disables both air bags), if you do pull the fuse you are responsible for that action if, god forbid, something happens.

You can call the parts dept. of your hyundai dealer. Have your VIN# ready let them know you need a price on the pressure sensor that is inside the passenger seat. If they ask, let them know what it is for. which is to turn on and turn off the passenger air-bag. Remember to stick to the subject, I wouldn't gossip to them about what the service dept. said. through this you will be more informed, good luck.

Check with your local dealer on that...They may be able to install an on-off switch or shut it down for you,... especially because you have a really good reason for it!
