2004 saab 9-3 brake light failure indicator - 9 3 Saab Cars & Trucks

On most cars, you are correct. This is not a brake warning light, it states, left rear brake light failure in the info center on top of the dash, where you see all the driver info such as time, direction etc. The brakes are fine and so is the brake fluid.

The brake light usually indicates that its time to have a brake job done. The fluid may be low or the indicators on you pads are making contact. . Either way you really need to get it looked at since this is safety issue.

Well if indeed it is a bulb check light then are all three rear brake lights working. Its common for the center window bulb to throw a side bulb error. Also if you already replaced it some cars are critical that you use the proper wattage bulb.

By the way also inspect for water intrusion which could cause a poor contact. Inspect for the bulbs all illuminating the same

2004 saab linear radio lights up but no sound

Do any of the system sounds in your vehicle work - e.g warning gong, direction indicator noise - if they don't then there may be a problem with the amplifier (located under front seat on left hand side of vehicle). The whole system works on fibre optic communication between the head unit and the amp. This could be an expensive job if the amp has blown (it can be vulnerable to damp under the seat - what were SAAB thinking of when positioning it here ?

If the CD doesn't play either - does it eject and load OK though ? this could point to a fuse or relay failure rather than the amp. Check the relevant fuses/ relays in the car - refer to owner's manual for the relevant locations.
