Question about 1984 Nissan 300ZX

Have a 1984 300zx, non-turbo two seater. 124K

Have a 1984 300zx, non-turbo two seater. 124K Have put lots of new parts on it but still have two minor problems....Engine bogs down and hesitates when gas pedal is depressed. And, when warm car does not start (or run well). Appears to be too much gas or not enough air because there is a little bit of black smoke. Are these problems related or separate? What would be the common cause of these problems answered by someone who really knows this car? Please advise. Thank you.

Was the car in storage for a long time? when stored or carburetor gets old gaskets tend to crack and leak also varnish builds up inside and affects performance causing rough running and poor performance. a good hot rod mechanic has more experience than most regular mechanics(who work mostly on fuel injected engines) and can clean and adjust or diagnose what the issues are and rebuild if carburetor needs to be.

Its running very RICH !!!! TOO MUCH GAS!
check the air fuel mix & the air filter!
it needs a good tune up!
& get the injectors either cleaned or replaced
the fuel injectors from the factory are renound for leaking & setting fire to this model!
you can buy aftermrket injectors that eliminate the this

What would cause transmission to shudder first thing in the morning when you start the engine and put it in reverse on a 2004 ford explorer v8 4.6

If car has high miles, trans wear could cause this. I would try removing 1 quart of new fluid and replace with Lucas trans additive.

to turn a non turbo engine into a turbo engine you will need a large amount of cash, some very good mechanical contacts that you can count on and a lot of patience, wiring and sensors, new cpu unit , new exhaust system. As I said -- a large amount of cash if you want to do the job properly

I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Gs non turbo that has a water outlet that has been pitted and needs replacing. I cannot find the outlet for the non-turbo. Any suggestions?

Your problem is most likely because you are describing your vehicle as a "Gs". The only similar listings in the catalog are for a "GSX". (The parts counter person probably has no clue that there is a difference) The GSX is only built in a turbo version, therefore you will not find a water outlet for the non-turbo version...it simply does not exist.

Now, if you simply describe it as an Eclipse, there are water outlets listed for the turbo 2.0L, the non-turbo 2.0L and the non-turbo 2.4L engines. You did not bother to mention engine size, so I will list the part numbers for BOTH of the non-turbo engines.

For the 2.4L engine: Compressor Works Part Number 815517

For the 2.0L engine: Compressor Works Part Number 815576

Both are available from AutoZone

I have a 1999 volvo s70 non-turbo 2.4 5 cyl. I bought it 1 year ago with 124k. It runs great, but the a/c cuts off when it gets over 90 degrees. At freeway speeds, it stays on (until it gets around 100...

There have been a lot of problems with the compressor cutting out when it gets hot. When the A/C begins to blow warm, check the power supply wire to the compressor. If there is power in the wire, you will most likely have to replace the compressor. If there is no power, you will have to trace it back to see what the problem is (a wiring diagram will help greatly).

Can you convert turbo to non turbo we think turbo went out it is spitting oil into exhaust and instead of paying for a new turbo having the problem later is it possible to convert we have found fuel...

If you do that you are going to lose a lot of power. Usually the pistons in the engine are different changing the compression ratio. I would suggest going to www.car-parts.com and try to find a used turbo. Or, there are companies out there that will rebuild your turbo, at a fraction of the cost of new.

1993 ford with 7.3l non-turbo has a tps problem. How do I adjust , check, and set if replacing with new one?

This component has essentially no adjustment... there is minor movement available from the mounting, but the TPS takes a value on power up and the that sets the baseline. From that point the system can measure position changes.

Just bolt it on, and plug in the wires.
