07 Chevy express when blower motor is in operation with highest setting, ABS and parking brake light's come on with ringing tone Code U1041 showed up on obd scanner What is possible cause? Thanks

Sounds like a network communication issue.
Modules connected to the class 2 serial data circuit monitor for serial data communications during normal vehicle operation. Operating information and commands are exchanged among the modules. When a module receives a message for a critical operating parameter, the module records the identification number of the module which sent the message for state of health monitoring/node alive messages. A critical operating parameter is one which, when not received, requires that the module use a default value for that parameter. Once an identification number is learned by a module, it will monitor for that modules node alive message. Each module on the class 2 serial data circuit is required to send a Node Alive message every 2 seconds . When no message is detected from a learned identification number for 5 seconds , a DTC U1???.
??? is equal to the 3 digit identification number of the module. Control Module ID = BCM
I would start checking ALL ground wires/straps on this vehicle. That has been a problem with GM. Try clearing the code and see if it comes back after you clean ground connections.

Heater in 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix GT only blow cool air. Changed thermostat.

Although this could be a number of things, it sounds like the damper (control switch) is faulty. When you adjust the temperature in the cabin of the vehicle to be either hot/cold it should move the damper to change the temperature. This is done by vacuum in most cases. I would recommend that you start with the simplest of things and check the fuse panel making sure that the fuse for the Heat/AC system is good and making contact. If that is not the issue it could be as simple as a bad vacuum hose, a faulty damper, or a faulty temperature control switch. Speaking from experience with GM products, it is probably the damper control. I hope that you have found this information to be useful, and if I can be of any further assistance, please let me know. Thank you for using fixya!

I have a 2005 Kia Sedona in south Africa that needs front shocks. If I buy aftermarket shocks in the USA will they fit. Thanks

  • Some helpful tips to for ordering aftermarket car parts are -
  1. Make sure to match the actual part number or the
  2. VIN number (Vehicle Identification Number) which is located at the bottom of the wind shiled on the drivers side as you are looking into the vehicle. The VIN number is the tell all of after market parts.
  3. Remember different parts stores in America sell different after market parts.
  4. I'm sure several parts stores in America will sell your part. Front shock are not so exclusive on this vehicle.

My civic information

The last 6 digits; 200808 are probably sequential and the number of cars built that year up to the one you have. The major portion of a VIN number (in the US) identify country of origin, model, equipment/engine installed, etc.
At least in the US, falsifying VINs is not uncommon if the car was stolen, considered 'salvage' for some reason (accident, flood damage, etc). Sometimes, these phony VINs turn up when someone tries to retrieve the car's history and the VIN doesn't work because it is counterfeit.
