Use jumper wires from battery for voltage and ground, use 30 amp inline fuse. Run wires to fan connector. If fan runs ok w/o blowing the fuse, the problem is in the wiring circuit to the fan. If the fuse still blows, something wrong with the fan. Just my opinion.

The cooling fan motor is likely drawing to much current because it is worn out.

You have a large wire that powers the ECM, it has rubbed through and is grounding out and blowing the fuse, locate the power source for the fuse under the hood, then look for damaged wiring, check places were the wires touches the body, it will not be easy, it takes time and a keen eye.

SOURCE: radiator cooling fan 30 amp. fuse keep blowing

The fan may run with jumper wires but if it''s blowing the 30 Amp Maxifuse it's needs a new or used fan motor. It's pulling too many amps.I have almost never seen a fan relay concern.Only other thing you may check is the wiring down near the fan shoud I have seen the 2 wires get loose from the conduit & melt onto exhaust manifold.Hope tHis Helps

SOURCE: 97 Saturn SL1 horn fuse keeps blowing when

Sounds like you have short to ground somewhere, I would check the wires near the horn itself and if they are ok check the clock spring.

Testimonial: "This poses a problem. What is a clockspring, where is it located, and how do you fix the problem?"

SOURCE: 1988 bmw 325is heater keeps blowing 30amp fuse,

More than likely the fan motor its self is short to ground try to unhook the wires to the fan motor and install a new fuse and then turn the fan on with the wires removed and if the fuse is still good you know it is the fan motor its self

Testimonial: "love the help gives me a starting point thanks a lot"

2002 chevy malibu blows 10 amp fuse seconds after start, controls ac cool fan and gas gauge and temp gauge

The gauges and the blower should be on different circuits. The blower uses a 30amp fuse or bigger.

Ck engine light problem on 2001 Impala

Well the code is for the circuit - the computer commands the relay to turn the fan on and it doesn't happen.
The computer provides the ground for the relay.
If you have replaced the relay and the fan and the fuse still blows, I would look for a problem in the harness between the fuse box and the fan, including the ground circuit for the fan.
The fuse for the cooling fan is usually a 30amp marked "cooling fan" in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
Do you know what the 25amp fuse that is blowing is for ?

Does your interior fan come on when you turn on the heat? If it doesn't, then look in the fuse panel for the comfort control fuse. If it is okay, then it will either be the fan motor or the comfort control switch.

Wiper fuse keeps blowing intermittently.

It looks like the wire circuit for the wiper motor is touching the car body when shaken so the only thing you can do is shake the wires and terminals yourself while engine is running then maybe you can pinpoint where the earthing is.

Main Cooling fan fuse keeps blowing.

Taking some of these things apart......

The temp gauge not registering a hot engine is a real bane on Zetec engines - check your coolant level before you do anything else. It may be that the system was airlocked when you filled it and that you got less coolant in than you thought you did.

It takes quite a short to blow a 50A fuse. First, make sure that the fan you've been looking at is actually the one protected by the fuse. Find out if there's anything else it protects. Check that all the fans/motors downstream of that fuse are free to turn (stalled fan motors are particularly good at blowing big fuses), and check all the cabling in between paying particular attention to places where wires pass close close the edges of parts that might chafe against them.
