I purchased an 81 eaton 24ft camper and I just had break controller and seven point hook up installed in my truck I hooked the truck up to he camper and get break lights an turn signals but none of the...

First thing to check is make sure the 7-way is plugged in firmly. Many times after connecting some people might accidentally trip or pull on the electrical connection. Next would be to get a test light and with your vehicle lights on start checking each of the 7 contacts in the 7-way right off the rear of your truck to make sure your 7-way was installed/wired correctly. If you still have the package for the 7-way that you installed it should show a diagram illustrating what contact is for the running lights and tail lights. If your test light pops on for each of those contacts then you have either bad bulbs or bad wiring on the trailer.

Looking for the fuses for marker lights on a 92 fleetwood camper

Exterior lights are power by tow vehicle, or you can hook to 12Volt battery or charge circuit. When your unit is plugged to hydro you should have one tab on tow plug that has +12vdc coming to it from converter circuit in trailer. Find that with a test light or meter, then when your sure you have proper wire in plug for running lights, use a jumper wire from one to the other to power lights temporarily while you find each problem with running lights .

Pulling a rv trailer

Look at the Coachman build tag and see what the weight rating is on the trailer. If it is within the tow rating for the truck, you should not have much issue. If you are not able to connect to the trailer brakes, make sure to give adequate extra space for braking.

Just hooked up me camper and when I turn on the truck lights the trailer brakes lock up. Turn off the lights and they are fine. Please help! Thanks, Bryan

The plug on the camper doesn't match the wiring on your truck, when youturn the lights on it is sending 12v to the brakes.

This is the way your trailer plug should be wired if your truck is wired standard.

Need wirering diagram to hook up trailer lights and elecric break

Also try http://www.etrailer.com/faq-wiring.aspx. They have a great website with lots of info. With the tow package, there should be a plug under the dash... far left above the emerg. brake petal. The harness that plugs into it should have came with the truck, or you can order one to fit it. Did thew truck come with a 7 pin plug on the back? If not you can order one from the above mentioned site. They also have the wiring colors.

Call dealer & ask them to run your vin# to see if it came with towing package. They shouldn't mind. If not, you'll have to wire it in yourself.

I have a 6 p0le from the truck to a 7 pole on the camper how do i wire it so the backup lights work? its a 91 camper special

usually the trailer plug isnt wired for backup lights,i guess you will have to wire it manually, check the color of your wire to the backup lights of your truck, locate that wire underneath the back bumper and splice a wire to it to hook to your plug to the trailer.make sure the reverse wire from your trailer matches up with the terminal at your truck

No running lights on camper trailer

Hey Paul, it's most likely a wiring problem. There is one wire designated for just the running lights. What type of plug does the truck have? Probably 6 or 7 way (6 or 7 wire). You can check the plug-in at the truck with a multi-meter to see if there's power at that point. If there is, then the problem is somewhere from the trailer plug to the lights on the trailer. If you have a 7 way plug, the center plug is for aux. power (back up lights on what you pull, if equipped). One wire is power to the camper battery for a breakaway switch, one for left turn and stop, one for right turn and stop, a ground wire, one for running lights, and one for trailer brakes. To determine what wire does what, 1st with meter check volts of all wires w/ truck and trailer hooked up, truck running, power wire to battery for breakaway should show voltage if equipped w/ a trickle charge, brake wire will show low voltage, approx. 2 volts, apply brakes and should go up to approx. 12 volts, put on L turn signal, meter should go up and down, as power to blinker pulses on and off, do the same to determine which is the R turn signal (put foot on truck brakes will show voltage to brake lights AND brakes, continue w/ process of elimination to determine which is running lights, and exactly where power is not going.

Does 2009 chevy.express have connection for electric brake?

Yes you will have to hook up a adapter. The only reason that you would not have to do this is if your vehicle came with the complete tow package, meaning shocks and tighter springs and everything else. But most of these models require a adapter to run electric brakes
