Question about 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

2 Answers

RPMs drop I have a 1999 Tiburon and when i drive it bucks. The RPMS now go from idle to almost zero and the car shakes and almost dies, this occurs when i am at a stop or when im coasting in neutral. It cuts out when i am accelerating. I have done a recent tune up, changed the fuel filter, changed the tps, and crank sensors. I also changed the fuel pressure regulator. The car throws no codes and none are stored. What should i try next?

Spark pug gaps are critically important & can even stop a car from starting! start there!
then reset the timing!
computorised cars should be banned! lol

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Why does my '88 Mercury Grand Marquis w/5.0 stall when put in gear?

I am thinking that the idle rpms are too low and the tune up is not good enough to compensate for the drop in rpms when the transmission is engaged
normal idle rpms on an automatic should be around 850rpms as they will drop 250rpms on gear selsction
any idle speed around 500 rpms will die when fear is engaged

My 99 vw beetle idles and tries to die at a stop light but when driving it is fine? it kinda has me worried .

Not sure about the dying may be an oxygen sensor going out. The shaking may be your allignment needs fixing.

1999 oldsmobile intrigue stalls and surges under deceleration conditions only. Idles in neutral fine, accelerates fine, has no apparent miss. Can put in gear and travel great until under negative torque...

Do you have any codes? If so, what are they?
If not, this could be a mechanical problem with either the torque converter itself or some sort of stuck valve in the valve body inside the transmission.
I just replaced the valve body in my wife's 1999 Mercury Sable and it cleared up a number of problems she was having with shifting and torque converter lock up.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck!

2003 Hyundai Tiburon GT randomly drops RPMs

drops anywhere from 500 to 2000 RPMs. ??? don't understand what you're trying to describe. First suspicion - throttle position sensor. Go to http://www.hmaservice.com/ and register (vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you'll have access to technical information (manuals, wiring diagrams, service bulletins, etc) about your vehicle.
If you don't want to do this, then I recommend you take/tow the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.).
