Then look at the clips on the window. The clips should be up at the bottom of the window. if one is lower, some one put them on that had a bad regulator. The clips are U/Y shaped and the window should be at the bottom of the U

thanks for responding randy.I actually replaced 1 window clip and both rail guides. They were all broke. When I put the window in it rested nicely on the front rail guide but the back rail guide was about 1 1/2 inches lower than the window clip. I noticed the spring tensioner on that cable is fully compressed by the motor.I hope that helps you understand my problem.

  • Randy Ohler May 17, 2016

Sounds like you need the regulator. Look at the cable for any bends/kinks. Usually when the start coming a part. The cable binds up at the motor, inside the housing. I have never been able to fix a window regulator. I have tried many different types.

How to remove the front passenger seat from a 2015 honda crv

**Note** Disconnect the battery and wait 30 minutes before starting. This disarms the airbags so they won't go off in your face.
Most front seats are held down with four bolts. One at each end of the two slider rails it sits on. Some manufacturers fit 'clip on' covers to hide the bolt heads.
Pop the clip covers off and slide the seat all the way forward. Remove the two rear bolts.
Slide the seat all the way back. Remove the front 2 bolts. Tilt the seat back and unclip the wire on the underside of the seat. The seat should lift out.
Refitting is the reverse of this method.
**Note** You might need to plug the vehicle into a diagnostic or an OBD2 scanner to reset the seat belt and airbag sensors. Unplugging the wire under the seat might flag up as a fault light on the Dashboard.

How do I remove the seats from a 1997 Nissan terrano

If it's the front seats, there should be bolts at the front and back of the seat rails. The rear seat should have clips so that you can push down on the back of the seat, then pull forward. You could also look for bolts below the front edge of the rear seat.

How do I fix drivers window that wont go up or down on a 2000 dodge durango

This is a common problem in these model years of Chrysler vehicles, Be patient and you can easily DIY. The mechanism consists of a motor and two cable/two guide rail assembly. The guide rails hold the window onto the cable with a clip on each rail. It is better to buy the whole assembly new rather than just replacing a bad motor or just the guide rail/cable assembly. I have been burned just replacing one or the other only to learn when popping open the cable spool that 1) cable is shredded or 2) it ain't easy winding the cable back up as tight as the mfr had it and the window won't roll up with the same speed as the other one. You will need a Torx set... a 25 or 30 size if I remember will remove the guide rail bolts. Some models have the motors riveting on with soft aluminum rivets. Just drill them out... like butter. Others have torx bolts on them with the nuts encapsulated inside a grommet. Put your hand behind and inside the door panel to hold them with your hand when removing the torx bolts. Their are two holes on the inside of the door panel... one guide rail is extracted through one of them, and the other one through it's own hole. Push the window up first, have an assistance hold it halfway up for you so you can see and pull the guide rail release clips with needle-nose pliers. Push the window up all the way and tape it using a good tape around the door sill at the top. Then you can start removing/replacing the motor and guide rails. When your done, plug the wiring harness back in and raise the guide rail half way up using the motor and then unplug the harness again. Have your trusty assistant lower the window down gently, insuring it's inside the groove and stopped by the guide rail clip assembly. Insert the clips back in and test your work before re-assembling your door panel. Crutchfield makes new door panel liner, if yours is crispy. A heat gun sometimes help remove them more intact. Good luck!

How to change a window motor in a 2005 pontiac sunfire

If possible, bring the window down to about 2/3rds raised

Remove the door trim panel.

Carefully remove the plastic liner from the door - it should be stuck on with of gooey black stuff. You will be re-using the goo and plastic so be careful with it and dont let the goo'd surfaces touch each other and dont get the goo too dirty.
The inside edges of the metal on the door can sometimes be like a razor blade - you were warned.

You might want to move the window up or down a bit until you can see the bottom of the glass where it joins the rails. This is difficult if the window is stuck full open or full closed - just be patient and careful in these cases. The window connects to the rails somewhere along the bottom of the glass and you might have to feel around to find the clips.Unbolt or unclip the window from the regulator rails and lift the window up and out of the door.

Remove the bolts holding the regulator and motor assembly. There are probably 2 bolts on each of the 2 rails and 2 or 3 bolts on the motor assembly. My guess is that they are 10MM metric bolts. The regulator cables will be clipped onto the door in 2 or 3 spots, push these clips back into the door then drop the motor forward enough to unhook the wire harness from the motor.

At this point you sort of fold up the whole regulator assembly and pull it out.

Replacing the motor with a genuine GM part is VERY expensive. usually, for about 1/3rd of the price of the motor alone, you can get a complete regulator assembly (motor included) from an aftermarket source.

Replace window motor on 1997 del sol

Remove the door handle with one #2 phillips screw, push forward. Push the 2 plasic clips on the release handle and the lock rod by rotating them away from the open end of the clip (clockwise for drivers side, counterclockwise for passenger side). Pull the lock rod and relese out of the clips. Remove the phillips screw in the bottom of the door grab handle. Remove the small black plastic piece on the upper forward corner of the door panel. Remove door panel, should be aproximately 10-12 clips. Once off, you'll see the window motor. Remove the outer window trim. Yes, you WILL break all the clips. I've not had much sucess no matter how careful I am. Use a 10mm wrench or socket to remove the window from the window regulator. You'll see 2 white plastic wedges with 10mm head bolts in them. Pull the window out of the track. If needed, loosen or remove the rear guide track. There also are two 10mm bolts holding the guide rail in. Remove the windoe regulator and motor assembly with (I believe) 3 10mm bolts. Once on the bench, remove the motor from the regulator and reinstall!

I have a 99 mitsubishi eclipse and I'm wondering how to install the door handle

i just did one on passenger door, roll window up, use 1/4" sockets, on door end, by door latch there is a 10mm, level with door handle, take off door panel inside, you'll see the window where its bolted, just behind that dip down shape of the window where it attaches, you'll see another 10mm bolt, take those 2 bolts out, remove the two extension rods, cliped on to handle lever, and lock cylinder, one on handle is white clip, one on cylinder is green clip, flip the snap part of clip away from rod, and slide rod out of clip hole, walla, pull handle out, unclip retainer clip from around slots holding cylinder into handle, and your done, p.s. try to reclip door handle rod into white clip before bolting back in to gain easier access to white clip and rod, green isnt as hard

Front passenger power window does not work properly.

Take it to an Auto glass place and they can fix that problem.
If your going to try it you need to remove the inside door panel and look at the window rail fram and check the fasteners that hold the glass to the mounting brace. Inspect the guild rails for the window for any damages and worn parts.
After inspecting and re tighten all the nut's and bolts and glass lines up. Just put things back together like new. Good luck and buy new door clips for the panel since they break easy.
