Question about 2000 Daewoo Leganza

My 2002 Jaguar S-Type has a thumping noise coming from the left front wheel. It becomes more pronounced when turning or on a curve in the road. It is not loose lug nuts or a warped rim. Any ideas on what this could be?

There are many items that could cause this, my first sugjestion to you is raise on wheel up at a time and wiggle it from left to right then from the top to the bottom wiggle it back and forth, if there is any paly in the wheel you need to get a second person to do the wiggleing and yo need to find what it is thats moving. Next do the other side. Also Check the king pins by putting a rod underthe tire and pul up with the rod see if the ball joints move, if they don't then the next thing to check is the stablizer bars look at the rubbers to see if there is any loose control arms and also check the a frame bushings for wear, some of the things I can help you with but need to see some pictures so if you have a digital camera let me know and I will look at them and try to set you up.

It could be in the shock tower in the front at the top.
or it maybe in one of the control arm bushings on one of the front wheels.
you should go to a discount tire shop and have then pull the fronts and put them on the road test machine and spin test them just to be sure about any bad tires.
and then one other thing it could be is a body bolt.maybe one of the frame to body bolt needs a half turn put on it.

hope this helps out.
thank you
jm

At that mileage your wheel bearings probably need changing, especially if you haven't been lubricating them whenever you did a brake job! Usually the front wheel bearings, the ones taking the weight from the engine and turning weight transfer to the outside wheels on curves burn out first...do it!!!

Growing noise in front end of Volvo s60

sounds like a wheel brg, if the noise lessens when you turn to the left while driving more than likely it is coming from the right side, but a brg makes more of a roaring noise.

Wheel bearing. A wheel bearing will make that noise when load is put on it. Changing the direction of travel could make it louder, or it could go away. Change the wheel bearings.

Noise coming from the front end of my 2003 dodge durango

You didn't specify if your vehicle is 2- or 4-wheel drive. If 4 wheel, you may have a failing contstant velocity joint which, when having developed worn spots in the cage can cause the noise you describe.
Typically, turning the wheel back and forth can cause the noise to become less or more loud and often the combination of a specific speed and driving a certain curve radius can cause the noise to nearly disappear or become more pronounced.

Thumping at front passenger wheel area

if the noise isassociated with "wheel speed" then it is in the rolling parts... axle hub bearing brake rotor caliper wheel or tires...if it goes away on right turns then you are unloading or separating the issue then...so a hub /wheel bearing /axle issue is most likely...does your brake pedal pulse when you feel it..(riding the brake while driving)..does the steering wheel shimmy ?
