I have a 1993 landcruiser fj80. ithesitates when

I have a 1993 landcruiser fj80. It hesitates when accelerating, to the point that at slower speeds it acts like it will stall and has on a couple of occasions. At higher speeds the rpms move as the truck hesitates. I replaced the fuel filter, and have tried fuel additives as well as different octanes; nothing seems to be helping.

My 1993 olds cutlass supreme idles fine until you step on the gas or when your going down the road at higher speeds than idle it has a hesitation what's the problem?

A flat spot on acceleration could be low fuel pressure or a faulty throttle position sensor. Could also be a vac leak such as a faulty EGR valve.
Is the check engine light on ?

What are the symptoms of a bad throttle position sensor (TPS).

There are a number of things. The car may idle to fast or too slow. The car may have momentary hesitation (jumps/fades) when driving. Most will eventually set a Check Engine code that will point to the TPS. the hesitation one may not though. That usually occurs when you have long commutes at steady speeds. This causes excessive wear of the TPS in one area and can cause intermittent dropouts. If you suspect this, try driving at steady speed 5-10 mpg SLOWER than usual and if the problem goes away that is probably the cause.

My landcruiser runs fine at idle and whilst been revved stationaty, but under load it seems to starve for fuel this only started yesterday ... i'm looking for possible causes .. thanks

many things will feel the same when driving. if the lack of power is smooth without a shacking-missfire.remove the air cleaner element and see how it performs this way ,you could have a blockage in there ,ihave found mouse nests blocking this air pasage. you could have low fuel supply, plugged fuel pressure, low fuel pressure, bad fuel pump, you could have a plugged catalytic converter, this usually shows up as slower and slower speed when accelerateing at full throttle but will gain soom acelleration when backing of the gas.if its missing ,lock at the spark plugs, wires or fuel injectors.

I have a 1996 Plym. Grand Voyager, hesitation & stalling.

If it works well at speed and acts up when slowing or stopped it doesn't sound like fuel filter or pump. You can try running injector cleaner through the engine to clean the carborator injectors or fuel injectors if you have those. Look at replacing the plugs and wires on the motor.
