When is the last time you bleed the brake line? Get few bottles of DOT3 brake fluid and a friend to help you bleed the brake. Start from the cylinder closest to the master cyc and work your way out toward the rear, Get the corrosion and dirt out. Do two of more pass if you have to; Do three pass for the rear. ===== If the rear is still locking up after line flush then the proportional valve is out of order.

Hello fello car nuts! i have a '03 tahoe, while driving down the road the speedo needle would drop slowly to 0, i changed out the speedo sensor on the tail shaft of the tranny. in doing so this caused my brakes to go crazy. the ABS ligh comes on, the brake indicator light comes on, then the service brake alarm starts dinging, and every so often the peddle pulsates while pushing them! please help! i have tried to reset the computer by diconnecting the battery, but nothing helped..

Ummm I do not wish to step on you toes mustgo,But you must bleed the cyl.the most distance from the master cylinder first.I agree with your solution .There is one other thing. Its a brake proportioning valve. The more load in the back, the more brake.less load ,less brake. It connects onto the rear axle from the chassis and has a valve small setup from the brakes.Make sure its not damaged or bent. Its usually a thin solid metal rod.Cheers

There`s a big bolt on the driver side of the rack and pinion of my 99 chevy Silverado LS two wheel driver.. if I loosen it, will it free the wheels from the steering wheel so I can align them back

I strongly recommend getting it computer aligned. Your eyes are nowhere near as good as the sensors on one of those machines. You're talking fractions of a degree on some of those angles. They'll check out your front end free before they make adjustments. If the cops recovered the car and you can get the police report, submit it to your insurance.

Have the same abs problem with my 1998 silver ado z71 as many have stated before. Mine will lock the back wheels at slow speeds. The abs dash light is on and seems that both front sensors are reading an...

abs systems do not lock on the brakes
they release the brakes when the wheels stop spinning and when the wheels start turning again apply the same brake pressure as before the wheels stopped spinning
check the proportioning valve to the rear brakes to ensure that it is not acting as a one way valve and that is causing the problems
if the compensating port in the master cylinder for the rear wheels is blocked that also will lock the rear brakes

4x4 quit working

Jack up the rear wheels and put it on jack stands. Have someone get in it and put it in 4wd and drive. Release the brake. Rear wheels are spinning only right. Don't get under it but look under it and see if the front driveshaft is spinning. If the shaft is spinning but the wheels aren't it is likely a bad front axle actuator. If the front shaft isn't spinning it is a transfercase problem.
