Would a dead battery stop your key from turning on in a 2003 gmc envoy

Sounds like a flat battery. Just enough to power your lights but not enough to power the starter motor. Try recharging the battery.and check battery connections are good.

Won't turn over

Even though all your other electrical bits are working it could be that your battery doesn't have enough juice to crank the engine. It doesn't take much power to run the radio, lights, etc, but cranking the engine requires the battery to have a very strong charge. If your battery is more than 5 years old, that's very likely the issue. I'd start there. Also, be sure to check the battery terminals and ground for corrosion and clean if necessary. If replacing the battery doesn't solve the problem it could be the starter solenoid or a loose electrical connection somewhere.

1993 miata 5 speed engine will not turn over at all, enngine not seized battery new, starter new, lights good, but get nothing when key is turned

What you state is true invest in a new electrical ignition switch that runs off the key cylinder to run power to the starters solenoid. When they go bad the car is totally dead sometimes such as yours. Some will go bad to the starter although other functions may work such as the radio, heater fan, and so on. If your headlights and brake lights work the switch is what you need for the ignition

Car will not start , almost like the battery is dead but lights/radio are working fine, the starter will not even turn ?!

Do the lights and radio still work while trying to start the car? If not, the battery is shot. If so, then either the starter relay, starter soleniod, or starter motor is defective.
