SOURCE: loud vibration on 2005 jeep liberty when under load.

Sounds a lot like a wheel balance problem, Does vibration go away over 55? In checking driveshaft joints...If you looked at them with the vehicle in park with the wheels on the ground, the shaft is "loaded" and cannot be correctly checked. To do this properly, vehicle should be in neutral with both rear wheels off the ground. Sometimes a joint can appear to be tight but still be bad. Check for traces of powdered rust around the rubber boots right where the end caps meet the cross on the inside. Any rust there indicates lack of grease and the likelyhood that the joint is frozen.
Check both balance and joints. Good luck.

SOURCE: front end vibration

on both my Camrys, i had this problem. You could really notice it when you were driving down the road going 40-60 mph and punch the gas - car would vibrate, let off the gas - vibration stops, punch the gas - car vibrates...... On both, it was the CV joints. It is much easier to just replace the drive axles (with the new cv joints and boots already installed). For my last replacement, i think thy were only around $65 each.

Dodge Intrepid ES 3.5. How to reset my ECM or TCM please?

To reset you just disconnect the battery for an hour or two, HOWEVER if you do that you have to reset the security system and engine immobilizer.

Second HOWEVER, your issue will be nothing to do with the ECM or TCM. Vibration is caused by unbalanced reciprocal motion or something loose and moving when it shouldn't.

Check tyre pressures.
Are you Lead Wheel weights in place.
Jack the car up, spin the wheel. Does it run straight and true, or is the wheel oval? Does the tyre have bulges in the tread or on the inner or outer sidewalls?

Spin the wheel again. Does it run smoothly and quietly or are the wheel bearings rough, crunchy and loose?

Grasp the top and bottom of the wheel, push the top and pull the bottom. Is there any play? Do the same front and back of the wheel. Any play there?

Now get underneath, and check Steering Tie Rod ends, top and bottom ball joints for play and wear.

Check the transmission CV Joints for play.

Your vibration problem is in the list above. Outside chance it is engine or transmission mounts

Sloppy gear shifter on 94 ford e150 van how do i fix it

I can only hope it is not the same as a '94 car!
I just completed the repairs on a 94 Ford car, and on it, here is what we found.
The shift linkage is inside the steering column.
There are 2 black nylon/plastic bushings that wear out, and when they do, the shifting gets sloppy first, and then the silly thing falls apart, and you get stuck in gear!
You have to remove the steering wheel and the steering column to fix this, but it is not really hard to do so.
Be blessed as you find your answers.

94 jeep grand cherokee front end vibration

Many things will cause vibrations, especially on 4WD trucks. Causes include: worn ball joints, worn tie rod ends, bent wheels, tires out of balance/shifted belt in tire, worn steering dampener, worn u-joints, worn CV joints, engine problems such as engine misfire, a bad fuel injector clogged fuel filter or injectors, worn ignition parts, etc. I suggest you apply the service brake in gear and give it a lot of throttle (power-brake)to determine if the engine is running smoothly or if it runs rough. Also, with the hood up, you can see the shaking if it occurs. If rough, check everything over and repair as necessary. If smooth, start checking ALL other vehicle systems and repair as necessary.

My intrepid suddenly won't shift out of 1st and the auto stick won't work. I assume it's something with the transmission. Is this expensive to fix

Sorry but these vehicles are notorious for bad transmisions, unfortunately it will cost you more than the car is worth to have another transmision put in it.

Have 2002 outback with bad vibration on gear , the engine runs good , I did replaced all mounts , still the same problem, help please.

I concur with anon263. When we replaced driver-side axle with an aftermarket one, the vibration was horrible. Most people around me would not believe that was the cause, but as soon as we replaced it with a Subaru OEM rebuilt axle, the vibration disappeared. Get a new one from Subaru if you can afford it. Here's hoping the rebuilt one will last, although some out there have said that it may cause other problems down the line, most likely just because it won't last as long as a new one. The aftermarket axles, with exception of MW, are off just enough in their designs and spline size to allow harmonic vibration to transfer from the engine to the wheel and then your steering wheel when you are stopped at a stop sign and still in gear. The vibration usually goes away when you put it in neutral or park. In my case, I even thought I detected some strange vibration when driving.

A transmission problem would not make the steering wheel vibrate. Have you ever had the Transfer Case fluid changed? This is required every 50K miles. A qualified transmission technician should evaluate your problem.
