Basically, your transmission is shot. There is no quick or easy fix for this, it will require at best a strip down and component replacement or at worst full rebuild or replacement. It sounds like it is slipping quite badly, and the slapping sound is it trying to put itself into gear.

Grinding sound

Is the knocking sound when the car is moving or sitting still as well? Does the grinding sound happen just as you put the car into reverse or does it keep grinding?
These transmissions are very problematic, especially if they are not properly maintained. The most likely candidates are a cracked flywheel or a broken drum inside the transmission. Either way, it sounds like the transmission will have to be removed to pinpoint the problem.

300zx clutch/trans noise

Sounds like the release bearing , with the clutch pedal pushed bearing would be disengaged and would not make any noise.

2004 cavalier wont move

The rear brakes are in fact engaged.
The parking brake handle may be released, but the rear wheel brakes are on.
Jack up one side and see if you can turn the wheel, then check the other side.

Bad slapping noise.

could be something with the timing chain system. There were some complaints about the chain slapping the cover and even a good number regarding failure for these cars. If it's anything more than a slight tick I would, or have a professional, take a look at it. If one of the guides, or the tensioner, or even a link in the chain itself let go it can spell big trouble if you try to drive it.

Noise when engine is warm and driving

4 or 6 cylinder? 4cyl. it is probably the t- belt slapping or one of the driven by belt items on the motor.
