My 98 kia sportage wont start

It sounds like the key sensor in the drivers door is malfunctioning, the drivers door is the only door that can enable/disable the alarm, if you try to unlock any of the others it will trigger the alarm.

Sometimes with my Kia I have to (without opening the door), cycle lock and unlock several times before the alarm is disarmed.

Have you tried this is succession, with all the doors locked:-

put the key in the drivers door, turn to lock and then to unlock, the alarm should disarm.

Also, if any of the door locks are jammed, the alarm will still activate when you try to unlock the drivers door.

If that fails and the alarm still activates, then it's a problem with the key sensor in the door.

I have a 1998 Land Rover Discovery with alarm problems.

Easy dont bother locking the car i never lock any of my cars if a tea leaf wants to get in then let them as i dont even bother with a CD player ,your problem will have to go to a dealer with the relevant software to be able to diagnose the problem correctly ,it could be a simple fault with a worn lock mechanism on the back of the door lock barrel though so take the door panel off and check it out before you go to the dealer

The alarm on my 2003 acura tl randomly goes off once it has been set. Any cure?

Have you checkd your fuses & also there is a small plastic/rubber piece somewhere on the driverside door, either on the actual door or on the car frame itself that once u close the door, that peice tells the alarm that its ok to lock and arm. (i dunno if u noticed but u can manually lock ur car w/ ur keys in the ignition, running, only if driver door is closed, from any other door usung the lock button, but not if the driver door is open) If that peice n ur door is worn, eventually it will break causing u to have to use ur key to unlock ur car. BUT, doing that will not disarm the alarm only unlock ur car & it will sound every time & not stop until u pull the fuse to the horn & lights. i had to bring mine to a dealership to get it fixd bc I couldnt figure it out. Paid $300 for a $25 piece of plastic I could have changed myself. Hope this helps..... good luck.

Ford falcon locks

Dude, the same thing happened with my EL falcon. It turned out to be the key fob! The buttons were sometimes sticking and all of a sudden it would re-lock. Ususally it would unlock then immediately relock. Leaving no time to get into the the car. Sometimes we would be driving and the Alarm would go off without touching a thing. I ditched the Key Fob and all was well again.
I hope this helps

1999 volkswagen passat car alarm factory installed system

Do you have a key fob? Unlock the car with that and you should be OK. My sons Elantra is the same way, you can only get in with the fob. I guess the car thinks it's being stolen otherwise. If you don't have a fob, I'm no help

Alarm goes off when i lock the car

This car has a feature that can automatically lock your doors after you leave your car unlocked for a period of time – this can be turned off. I had the dealer do it but I am sure if you check the manual it can show you how to do it yourself. The alarm and locks on this car are very sensitive and often break so if this problem isn't resolved by deactivating the auto lock then I would have a mechanic look into it.

Jeep alarm will not turn off

The ignition security on/off is located at the trunk lock. unlock and lock rear gate and the alarm will turn off. My jeep sat in my drive for a month before a jeep tech told me this. It still triggers the security sometimes when I unlock the passenger door with the key and I go straight to the rear gate lock and it shuts off instantly.
