How do you remove a factory stereo

There are usually 4 square holes in the faceplate of the radio. These require either probes to release the spring clips or the tools sold at Walmart or autoparts stores.

It's kind of ironic. Some call these fixtures anti-theft devices but you can get the release tools for several dollars and anyone can buy them, including thieves.

You insert these tools or anything you want to do the job into the holes in the faceplate and carefully pull the radio towards you. Antenna and wiring will need to be unplugged.

I need the security code of my car radio I removed the battery now it need a code which I don't know Kenwood PDX500M serial number 31104056 please.

For this fix you need to reconnect your battery.
1) Turn on the car.
2) The faceplate rotates out and the CODE - - - - prompt appears.
3) Press >>' and Auto keys simultaneously on the faceplate and hold for 4 seconds. (If the faceplate rotates back into the console push on the upper left top edge of the faceplate and it will flip back around. Press the Eject button and then try it again.)
4) The screen will still say CODE, but the - - - - will disappear! When this happens press the 5 key on the remote twice and it enters a K on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
5) Press the 2 key on the remote three times and it enters a C on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
6) Press the 2 key on the remote once and it enters an A on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
7) Press the 7 key on the remote twice and it enters an R on the display on the faceplate. Hit the >>' key on the faceplate.
8) The radio goes into All Off mode and you are set! Hit the SRC button on the faceplate to select CD, Radio, etc

Bose radio light bulb replacement in 2003 Silverado

You have to open up the radio chassis, remove the front circuit panel faceplate (move out of the way)and remove the very tiny 12 light bulbs which are hard wired to the small control panel circuit board behind the radio display. VERY important, use a low temperature soldering pencil and a heat sink in each of the bulbs legs, DO NOT overheat the circuit boards are you will need to replace the radio. You can buy the bulbs from Radio Shack, the part number is 7219 which is a 12 volt 60ma wired terminal base miniature bulb.

My 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee has the original radio in it, it gets power but no sound comes out. Any ideas?

Attach a known good speaker to any of the speaker wires...if it doesn't work the problem is inside the radio. You can locate another in a scrapyard or get an upgrade at any electronics outlet (don't forget adapter harness and faceplate cover if needed)

Radio Code Problem

Can't be sure about a Nigerian Honda but in the USA if this happens:

Try to locate the code. Check your owner's manual or the inside of your glovebox for a sticker. If it is nowhere to be found the only way to get it is to remove the radio and get the serial number from the back of the radio. Tkae that number and your VIN to a Honda dealer. They should be able to get the code for you with this information. They may ask you for your driver's license and registration before doing so.
