Question about 2006 GMC Envoy
The gas guage was going wacky....so i decided to disconnect the power from the battery to reset the puter. Found out later it was just a loose gas cap. Now after re-connecting the battery..., the gas guage works fine..., but now when i turn on the Front A/C , with temp turned down all the way on both sides .., i get cold on the pass. side..., and HOT on the Driver Side!
Had a similar problem with the AC when i bought it...but reversed hot & Cold from now. i think they said it was in the programming of the puter..., can i fix it myself...?
Thanx ! John , Cottonwood, Ca.
Disconnecting your battery on our platform has a habit of blowing actuators. Takes quite a bit of time to replace them, not hard, just takes forever to get to them in the dash.

first check your refrigerant or pay someone to do it, you need a special guage. if the refrigerant is low or empty, it will blow hot air because there is no cooling happening. most likley this is the problem, if it is not you may need to hire a mechanic.
or there is a flap that switches from hot to cold. it blocks each "exhaust" sounds like its stuck, you need to find the schematics for the car and trace down the electronic component(s) for this(dont know what its called)

SOURCE: air conditioning
Need to have your HVAC system scanned to determine what has failed in that system. Possible blend door for drivers side or maybe the system just needs recalibrated.

that is a good possibilty, but before I pulled the trigger I would try this first. unhook the battery for 5 minutes, rehook it, now turn the key on, wait for 2 minutes, now start the truck and see if the doors now work. sometimes this works, its worth a try.

Testimonial: "Thank You, Temp. Cont. operates ok. A computer reboot on a truck works the same as on commerical aircraft system (reset system). hopefully no refault"
Check to make sure it is full of coolant, if it is then the motor that controls the blend door is bad or stuck.
The HVAC controls could also be the problem.
