2006 Envoy XL - Front A/C not working correctly

The gas guage was going i decided to disconnect the power from the battery to reset the puter. Found out later it was just a loose gas cap. Now after re-connecting the battery..., the gas guage works fine..., but now when i turn on the Front A/C , with temp turned down all the way on both sides .., i get cold on the pass. side..., and HOT on the Driver Side!
ow What...?
Had a similar problem with the AC when i bought it...but reversed hot & Cold from now. i think they said it was in the programming of the puter..., can i fix it myself...?
Thanx ! John , Cottonwood, Ca.

Disconnecting your battery on our platform has a habit of blowing actuators. Takes quite a bit of time to replace them, not hard, just takes forever to get to them in the dash.

SOURCE: passenger side blows hot everywhere else is cold

first check your refrigerant or pay someone to do it, you need a special guage. if the refrigerant is low or empty, it will blow hot air because there is no cooling happening. most likley this is the problem, if it is not you may need to hire a mechanic.

or there is a flap that switches from hot to cold. it blocks each "exhaust" sounds like its stuck, you need to find the schematics for the car and trace down the electronic component(s) for this(dont know what its called)

SOURCE: air conditioning

Need to have your HVAC system scanned to determine what has failed in that system. Possible blend door for drivers side or maybe the system just needs recalibrated.

SOURCE: With AC on cold, Drivers air full hot & passenger side full Cold

that is a good possibilty, but before I pulled the trigger I would try this first. unhook the battery for 5 minutes, rehook it, now turn the key on, wait for 2 minutes, now start the truck and see if the doors now work. sometimes this works, its worth a try.

SOURCE: ac unit working fine, but when I turn the knb to heat, cold air

Check to make sure it is full of coolant, if it is then the motor that controls the blend door is bad or stuck.

The HVAC controls could also be the problem.

First thing to do is clean the throttle body, that includes the front and back sides, make sure to disconnect the battery during the cleaning in order to reset the computer.
If this does not fix problem, look for vacuum leaks.

When I drive my 2004 envoy and turn my heater on the throttel goes down ant acts like it is going to die it is when it is on defrost or a/c. We tried cleaning the throttel body still no solution? Any...

When you cleaned the throttle body, did you have the battery disconnected? Did you remove the throttle body to clean it? That's the best way, must be shiny like new. Try disconnecting the battery again for 30 minutes. Then drive around for a while (it does take some time 20 minutes maybe) with the defroster and A/C OFF. This way the computer can reset correctly. Let me know if this does or doesn't work, but if done correctly what you did should of corrected this very common problem.

2006 GMC Envoy XL gas gauge reads empty after filling continues reads empty and the light is on then the check engine light came on what can be the problem how ca i fixe it to save mesome $$$

It is most likely your fuel level sending unit has gone bad. It sits inside your fuel tank to tell the fuel guage how much gas you have in the tank.

The sending unit for the gas gauge is in the fuel tank and part of the fuel pump module, it is not sold seperately. Price is around $350.00, 2 hours labor to install the part.

Gas guage-oxygen sensor?

The oxygen sensor has nothing to do with the fuel gauge. There are two possibilities for the gas gauge error, first it could be the in-tank gas level sensor or it could be a defective stepper motor which drives the gauge. A professional scan tool can determine the fuel level being sent by the in-tank sensor, if that disagrees with the gauge, then the stepper motor needs replacing.

06 envoy xl - gas meter stays on empty it really never comes up sometimes when its initially turned on it goes up then falls back down to EMPTY.. any suggestions? could this be a fuse problem??

this is caused by one thing only, the gas guage sending unit is defective, this fuel gauge sending unit is part of the gas tank mounted fuel pump module, cost $360.00. see photo.

Went to put the 2001 yukon xl 2500 into 4x4 and service 4wd came on and all lights went off on switch. I checked fuses and power to switch all was ok. could switch be shot

I had an 2001 or 2003 envoy that did that and the only solution was to disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes so the computer would reset.

Envoy A/C problem connected to Recent Battery Change...

Yes there is a connection with A/C going wacky and the battery disconnected for any reason, due to poor design. Upon re-connection of the battery, our actuators have a good chance of blowing. Pretty common problem, they should have disconnected Fuses #10 and #28 before hooking the battery back up.
