New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs $6 per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

How to turn off security on 02 jaguar so car will crank

No easy way of doing this and the ECUs on the pre 2004 jaguar are very complex. They are made by Denso Japan. There is one specialist in the US, you would have to remove the alarm (immobilizer) ECU and I think the main ECU and send it to them to recode. Alternatively you can take it to a main dealer with the full jaguar factory software and he should be able to do this (at a price).

I bought a 2003 jaguar xtype used a month ago and it came with only one key can i buy one already programmed ,if not what do i need to buy and in what order?

You can purchase pre-programmed keys only from Jaguar. However you can purchase keys on the internet and match them to your car as follows:-

Jaguar X-Type Programming (Pairing) a Remote KeyFob X-Type 2.0, 2.5 and 3.0L

keyfob.jpg

Programming or pairing a new remote Keyfob for the X Type is a very simple job that will cost a substantial amount if it is done by Jaguar. It's annoying but this may need to be done if your Keyfob battery has been allowed to go flat, or the car battery has been removed for any length of time.
Follow these steps exactly and you should have no problems, pairing old or replacement Keyfobs for your car.

1.)I would recommended that you ensure all key fobs are fitted with new batteries. ( Click here to see battery replacement guide).
2.)Get in the car and close the drivers side door.
3.)Put the key into the ignition and turn to position I.
4.)Wait 5 seconds
5.)Turn the key quickly to position II then back to I four times.
6.)You should hear a single chime.
7.)Remove the Key
8.)For each Keyfob in rapid succesion. Press any single button on the keyfob you wish to pair, you should hear a chime as each Keyfob is paired with the security system. After the chime do the next Keyfob.
9.)Check operation of each Keyfob.

2002 jaguar x-type alarm went off the other day while I was inside. When I shut the alarm off,I notice that the dashboards lights were on.I tired to start car but nothing happen, car isn't making a sound.Can...

most modern day car alarm systems started being factory fitted well over 10 years ago. The back up ni-cad battery inside the main siren will probably now be derelict and will cause many false alarms and immobiliser faults. In most cases, find out where the siren is tucked away( it will not be eady to get too because its a security device), and either replace the unit or ni-cads or just unplug it.
Always best to get car rescanned and clear dtc codes afterwards though too.
Note: keyfob batteries must be replaced annually on service date.
Cheers
Roger

2004 xtype jaguar key fob suddenly stopped working car locked and alarmed if i use key in the door will the alarm go off if so how do i stop it

Your key fob needs reprogramming, and yes the alarm will go off when you open the door, but you have enough time to put the key in the ignition which will prevent the alarm sounding. Car is usable until you get the fob sorted by locking and unlocking using the key.
