Question about 1998 Plymouth Voyager

1 Answer

While driving down the highway, husband heard a noise, he thought he had hit something, sounded like a plastic bottle. About 2-3 miles he came to where he could stop, and noticed transmission fluid running out from underneath the van. He was able to drive it home, no loss of power or slipage. Any ideas what this problem might be? Possibly a blown gasket?

I had the same problem with my 2002. Turns out it was the brake booster and reservior. Suggest you call around for pricing Mazda dealership wanted to charge 3 times as much as repair shop I ended up using and works just fine.

Especially with noises, it's nearly impossible to diagnose without being there. The noise you are hearing may be the first indication of your catalytic converter beginning to fail. As the exhaust gets squeezed through a smaller and smaller opening it can make that kind of noise. If the engine is running rough at idle, I'd also check for vacuum leaks.

1997 Lincoln Towncar noise in dashboard

Is the noise coming from wiper area when you are driving on the highway? If it is the most likley solution is to replace the plastic peice at the bottom of the windshield that goes all the way across, on the outside between windshield and hood. when the wind hits it it makes noise.
