You need to replace your IAC (idle air control valve). The IAC, like it sounds, control the idle of your car. When they go bad they will cause the low idle and stalling. The IAC is located on the throttle body and is usually held on with a couple of screws. It is an easy relatively cheap fix that you can take care of by yourself. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

I don't understand why you would give me a less than favorable rating for my help with your free question when you didn't give me all of the information that I needed to make an educated decision of how I could best figure out your problem. That being said 95 percent of the time it would be your IAC. Seeing that you have changed this already, I would definitely look at the TPS next. Obviously there are many things that it could be but the fact that you now say that it is reving as well I think your best bet will be the TPS. Again, let me know if you have more questions. Thanks again for using FixYa!

Idle fluctuates on 1995 f250, sometimes dies, sometimes revs, no apparent vaccum issues, IAC with scan tool reads low voltage issue. Could this be vaccum, charging system, faulty computer? Problem is...

Engine stalls cold or RPM fluctuates at idle up and down or dies near idle.

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve but always run a OBD2 fault code as well as the cleaning procedure. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control. If the above cleaning doesn't cure your issues you need to have the computer controlled automatic idle speed control system diagnosed and repaired by a dealer or electronic engine control repair shop.

Will it stall if you keep your foot on the gas like the Idle speed is set low? Possible Idle speed motor? I'll have to look up the location of the low coolant sensor.

Car stalls

when cars idle super low this ussually mean that you fuel filter is clogged.........change the fuel filter.......and if that does not help.....check the air filter.......if dirty change it.......and if that still does not help......check the o2 sensor......and if that does not work......"when was the last time you had a tune up on your car"?

you might need new plugs...........also try runing a fuel injector cleaner....sometimes it is because the injec are dirty......

Set your idle speed to mfg recomindation if that doesnt help check the dash pot that is what keeps the engine from stalling at sudden speed reduction
