Question about 2004 Chrysler Sebring
My wife has this 2004 sebring convertible and it is currently on its 3rd battery. She bought it in september 2005 new and has only driven it 33,000 km in almost the 4 years since. Recently it has been unable to ''turn over'' in the last 2 weeks (about 4 times now) and needs a boost to get going. A repair shop could not find any problem other than a battery very low on charge and they charged it fully last week. tonight it refused to start for the 4th time. Something seems wrong that for a very low mileage car to need a battery replaced 4 times in such a short time let alone the life of the car. The previous time we replaced the battery, the battery was so dead my honda civic couldn't even boost it even after running connected for 20 minutes. What can possibly be wrong here and is this an inherent problem or something that chrysler is aware of? many thanks.
I would look at the alternator. I had a grand am that would do that to me, even with a brand new battery. The alternator output wasn't able to run the vehicle and charge the battery. Alternators are picky things, especially being in Canada (which I assume from the KM), the hot and cold cycles don't play nicely with the brushes and core. I'd have the alternator checked and replaced if needed.
