My left light bright works but not at regular light. i changed the bulb and the socket. And the fuse works.what could be wrong?

Bulbs could be burned out. A light sensor could be defective. Old cars would not have this sensor. The bulb socket could be corroded.

Have you checked the socket to see if 12 volts is reaching the socket for brake light citcuit? Probe the wires with a 12 volt test light probe (avail from any parts store for about $6)

When changing the rear taillight bulb, now the right blinker doesn't work and niether tallight work. I changed left and right bulbs


beth your central problem goes back many years. for some reason bulb makers thought it would be funny if two electrically different bulbs physically fit into the same socket. those where the 1156 and 1157 bulbs. if you have ever driven down the road following someone who had one very bright tail light and one dim one, then you have seen this at work. When the round sockets turned into flat blade sockets this nonsense was continued. what you have done there is inadvertently put the wrong bulb into the wrong socket. half the guys working in repair shops and all the guys working in gas stations and all boyfriends and husbands, except me, are unaware of this and make the same mistake. if you have a 50/50 chance to get it right, the odds are against you.

You need to do some thinking about what the socket is for, are there two functions going on such as a tail light and a brake light, and which bulb then goes into which socket. there will be two more or less the same in appearance on either side. a dealer cam most likely set you straight on this for free.

I would rule out a bad light connector plug, and then the ground connection. generally you will find a good size wire attached to each side of the headlights which is screwed into the chassis for a ground. when a head light is dim, there is usually something afoul there. i would bet that your husband plugged the wrong type bulb into the socket, that is why it did not come on at all with the new bulb. there are two different head light bulbs, physically they are the same, but electrically they are different so you can easily put the wrong one in either socket. this holds true for the tail lights as well, easy to get them backwards.

if you can not find an obvious problem with the ground or the connector, then a mechanic is going to have to put his hands and eyes on it. this could be a type of problem where a high dollar dealer service department might be a better choice than a low dollar garage. if this is a common problem the dealer could fix it in a snap and there may even be a recall on the light fixture.

It sounds like a bad light socket. The brake light and the parking/running/regular part of the socket are shorting out. When you press on the brake petal it's shorting out on the turn signal and sending current to the indicator (arrow) on the dash.. When you use the blinker, it's shorting with the brake light and causing them both to flash...

I had the same problem with my 2001 Forester. Try this as a low-cost and easy repair attempt: buy brand new fuses and replace both L/H and R/H fuses. If one of your fuses is marginal, your headlights will exhibit this problem. Replacing my headlight fuses with brand new ones solved my situation.

Check the bulb. The problem has to be right there at the socket for the left rear. You do understand how the two filament bulbs work? The brake and turns use one filament, while the park lights use the smaller , less bright filament. And the bulb has two buttons on the bottom that touch two buttons in the socket. That is how the current is carried separate for the two lights.
It sounds like your bulb is wrong, or the socket itself is compromised.

check fuse number 7 in Engine Compartment Fuse Box , if its ok you need change turn signal switch
