it is on the top of the motor just under the intake manifold. it will look like a wire with a rubber washer around a 14mm bolt.

It is ---Oxygen Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction...

all 5spd from legacy legacy gt outback will fit from 96-2002 they have same gear ratio you will have to change over mounts and speed sensor

You may need to give the MAF a small shot of carb cleaner across the inside air flow vane. The small wire like elements sometimes get dirty and cleaning them will do wonders.

how many miles?there is a recall now on 05 legacy outbacks,the recall calls for the shop to perform a catalyst deteriation test and depending on results one or both sets of catalysts need replacement and ecm gets reflashed check it out and by all means ,i know these convertors are expensive,do not get suckered by installing a aftermaket convertor they only last 3-6 months

one of your abs sensor is bad or the abs motor,go to local shop to diagnose which sensor,shop usually charge $ 60 to diagnose abs system,good luck, let me know ..

heavier oil if you are not in a cold climate. but before you do that have the oil pressure checked. We used to use a can of STP every once in a while on a motor in a dodge we had... nothing wrong with it... was just noisy.
