Question about 2001 Dodge Stratus

1 Answer

I have the exact same problem same car same trim same motor

I have a 2001 stratus es 2.7L 108K. The battery was replaced about a month ago. It started fine in the morning nothing out of the ordinary. I hopped in at work and nothing. No clicks or sounds what so ever. The radio also does not work, however my compass does work, although at first it is all dashed lights and does that when the key is turned over, it will return to displaying the information in about 2 or 3 seconds. It was 84 degrees and sunny all day, the car was facing west. I mention that as there was a TB stating occasinally when the car is facing west it will send a faulty security code to immobilize the engine. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

it is number #899

problem solved for people with the same issue, its a faulty starter motor blowing the 20AMP ATM fuse under the hood. The radio is apparently wired somewhere down the line, you can test simply by jumping the starter relay. Apparently replacing the starter motor solves the problem. Hope this helps anyone else.

Wont start...

Need to check the condition of the battery. Use a volt meter and check the voltage before trying to start the motor. Have someone to try to start the motor while you check the voltage on battery at the same time. If the voltage dropps to either a 10 or less, replace the battery. If the battery is 4 years old or older then replace it. Hope this will help you.

The Engine light is on. The gas cap is tight. I

I would take the Odyssey to Autozone (or some other of the same sort) and have them hook their reader up to you OBD-II port and get the exact codes that your malfunction light is indicating. They don't charge for that, and it will help you know exactly what the problem is.
Hope this helps you.

2001 dodge stratus r/t tail light

Ok, open trunk, there is carpet in there. Either the carpet is just sitting in there and held in by some plastic screws or nuts or the carpet is held in by the trim on the edge. If it's held in by the trim, remove trim either by removing screws that hold it in or if no screws they should pop right out. If the carpet is held in by screws/nuts those screws/nuts can either be on the outside the carpet or even under it if carpet is held in by the trim. There is at LEAST 3 screws/nuts holding light in. There could be 4. When all nuts are removed, you should be able to wiggle lamp housing out. If you can't, you can tap on those bolts sticking out to help get it started. If it still will not come, double check to make sure ALL screws/nuts are removed.
