Question about 1990 Ford Ranger SuperCab
I have a 2001 Ford ranger srs V6 2WD automatic long bed and I bought it new in Vegas where I was living . I'm being told I have the wrong rotors and they are original, that my break pads of 6 mo are worn off on one end and new on the other plus i wanted an alignment but was told my bearings needed repacked. I was told when i bought this truck I had sealed bearings and would last the time of the truck unless damage has occored but I've not damaged the front end. I had a shimmy in the fronend starting about 35mph and realy bad at 60mph. I had 2front shocks replaced and 4 new tires put on yesterday and today no shimmy at any speed. I need help to know what to beleive because I'm headed to Vegas tommorow from SE Idaho.
Your truck has sealed bearings in the front but they can go bad after several miles. If the truck is not stopping straight or you are getting a pulse through the break pedal (and sometimes a shimmy in the steering) then it's time to replace the rotors and pads. If the truck is stopping and driving fine then I wouldn't worry about it.
