Question about Chrysler Concorde

Chysler concorde has code p1776, points to transmission solenoid stuck in l/r position. TSB 2100804 ISSUED 10/16/04. REMOVED XMSN PAN AND FILTER. REMOVED SOME OF THE BOLTS OFF THE VALVE body. CANT SEEM TO GET THEM ALL OUT chrysler used hex bolts and some t-25. about an even mix. Cant get all the t-25 bolts out and do they all have to come out. Looks like some hold the solenoid pack on. Am I missing something? Is there anything else to remove to drop the valve body.

    Do I have to remove all the t-25 bolts also, except for the ones holding the solenoid casing, Let me know, please

The valve body can be removed with the trans axle remaining in the vehicle, or with the trans axle removed. The illustrations in this procedure shows the trans axle removed from the vehicle for clarity.
The solenoid pack and Transmission Range Sensor (TRS) are mounted on top side of the valve body. They will remain attached to the valve body when the valve body is removed from the trans axle. The solenoid pack and TRS can only be removed from the valve body after the valve body is removed from the trans axle.
REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the TRS wiring connector . The solenoid wiring connector can remain attached to the case.
  2. Disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever (at the transaxle)
  3. Move the shift lever clockwise as far as it will go. This should be one position past the L position. Then remove the shift lever.
  4. Remove transaxle pan bolts
  5. Remove transaxle oil pan When reinstalling oil pan be sure that pan flange is clean and oil free. Apply a 1/8 inch bead of Mopar Silicone Sealer onto oil pan flange before installing
  6. Remove oil filter from valve body It is held in place by two clips
  7. CAUTION: The 42LE transaxle oil filter is not interchangeable with the 41TE transaxle filter. Installation of a 41TE oil filter in a 42LE may cause transaxle damage.

Once the bolts are removed the valve body will be stuck, carefully pry it off.

Fault codes P1776


solenoid switch valve latched in LR position (this is a transmission issue which may involve replacing the valve body and solenoid pack; on some models there is a TSB on this problem so be firm with your dealer- Chrysler). not sure what TSB means but it sounds like a recall or problem they are aware of and responsible for fixing! That is word for word what my code reader says.

DTC P0757 MAZDA - Shift Solenoid B Stuck On

The P0757 code is detected when the ECM has detected a mechanical fault with the solenoid energized, valve stuck on.

Shift solenoid valve B is turned ON or OFF by the Transmission Control Module (TCM) in response to signals sent from the park/neutral position (PNP) switch, vehicle speed and Engine Control Module (ECM) (throttle opening). Gears will then be shifted to the optimum position. When the a transmission solenoid is stuck on, in most cases the problem is not the electrical part of the solenoid; the problem is foreign material obstructing the mechanical function of the solenoid or the flow of the fluid through the transmission valve body. If the transmission fluid is very dirty, it is recommend changing the transmission fluid and if possible removing the transmission pan for further diagnosis. Excessive debris or metal particles on the transmission pan could be an indication that there is a transmission mechanical failure and that the transmission will need to be rebuilt or replaced.


Possible causes:

- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Faulty shift solenoid B valve
- Shift solenoid B valve harness or connectors
- Shift solenoid B valve circuit is open or shorted

I suggest ask your dealer about the folow TSB...

I have a chysler town and country the engine light came on, I had it tested the codes were 700 and 1776 what do they mean


ok your p0700 code is '' transmission control system malfunction '' and your p1776 code is '' solenoid switch valve latched in the LR position " they seem to go hand and hand on many chryslers from what ive seen.

Went on trip, drove a little over 500 miles to destination. When went from one freeway to another car seemed to go into a limp mode after slowing to bout 20- 25 mph. I reset by putting it in park turning...


PO456 is most times a gas cap or gasket,
to get an incorrect gear ratio the transmission has probably started to slip.

Change the fluid and filter first off in the transmission and use only atf+4 fluid and possibly the govenor pressure sensor,and change gas cap.

I have a 2004 Dodge Intrepid SE and the check engine light has been on for several days. I took it to Auto Zone and they plugged in their tester. They gave me the following codes - P1776 and P0700. Please...


P0700 code is a generic code for Transmission Control System Malfunction


P1776 code means your solenoid switch valve is stuck in low reverse. (DTC 47) A stuck solenoid switch valve is a common occurrence in the valve body of the Dodge 41te transmission.

The first step would be to check the wiring to the solenoid from the TCM, then maybe try a new solenoid pack if the wiring is determined to be fine.

MY 2004 CHRYSLER 300M CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A P1776 AND P0700 CODES CAME UP, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO??? DEBBIE


p0700 indicates you have trans fault present..p1776 is a trans fault which means solenoid switch valve is latched in low/reverse position..solenoid switch valve is located in valve body of transmission,but for 2001-2004 LH vehicles you need transmission event data read to find out what TRS position the fault set..recommend chrysler dealer for this fault..also build code on solenoid pack in trans must be checked..if in a certain build code range,you replace solenoid pack..not the valve body..valve body must be removed to check build code on solenoid pack..i have seen this problem before..i am a dealer technician, and had one of these fault codes last week and solenoid pack was the problem..solenoid pack is about 375 dollars..total time with diagnostics was about 3 hours..

(DTC) CODE # P0700....Transmission Control System (MIL Request)

Translation:
Transmission Control Module (TCM) Malfunction or Failure.

P0700 Information Code

The Transaxle Control Module (TCM) monitors the malfunction of sensors and actuators relating to transaxle control. If any malfunction is detected, the TCM informs the PCM by sending a signal (P0700 code). P0700 means that a code has been set in the TCM.

This code is for information ONLY. If this code is present, check for transaxle codes.


P1776: Solenoid Switch Valve Latched in Low/Reverse Position. The TCM monitors the L/R solenoid to ensure that the fluid transfer happens. It uses a Pressure switch to verify this. Usually this code is set by a switch that is stuck or a solenoid that is not mechanically operating.

A transmission shop would be better suited for this type of work.
