ABS LIGHT AND BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON

AND THE BREAK PEDAL IS REALLY HARD TO PUSH.AND WHEN I PUSH IT BRAKE FLUID COMES OUT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER CAPS.VERY LITTLE TO NO BRAKES. IT'S A 1993 PLYMOUTH VOYAGER 3.3 V6

Please replace the rear brake shoes with brand new, not relined, purchased from the dealer. Also, replace all the rear brake hardware, springs, etc.

For some reason these vehicles you need to bleed brakes several times, had same problem, so air hangs up in lines somewhere it apears. When you say brakes sticks, describe it better, locked up, or dragging on rotors?

It is very difficult to diagnose this problem with the little bit of information you gave. If the brakes are drum brakes check to see if the brake cylinder is working and has no leaks, lift the rubber seals and make sure there are no leaks there, check the brake adjuster make sure that works okay. If everything works and you bled the brakes properly, then the problem is most likely is the master cylinder or the wheel cylinder.



While bleeding the brakes always make sure you check the master cylinder reservoir to make sure the fluid level is up so you do not get air in the brake lines. When bleeding the brakes did you have someone press down hard on the brake pedal hold the pressure on the brake pedal when opening the bleeder then push the brake pedal to the floor keep it there, until you tightened the bleeder, then pump the brakes up and hold it there, while you repeated the bleeding operation by opening the bleeder when the brake pedal go\'s to the floor keep the pedal down until you tighten the bleeder and then pump the brake pedal back up then check the fluid level in the reservoir, keep doing it until the brake fluid shows no sign of air.



If the brake pedal is pumping up during the bleeding process and you made sure you got all the air out of the brakes and then the pedal go\'s to the floor, make sure the fluid level is correct in the reservoir and the bleeder is closed tight and there are no leaks in the lines, wheel cylinder, brake cylinder the brake adjuster is working and master cylinder, and if you still have no brakes then it must be a defective piston in the wheel or brake cylinder, if there is a seal problem with the pistons you will not get any pressure to push the brake fluid. let me know how you are doing.

How to tell is the brake booster is bad in a 1986 dodge D100


This is a standard Vacuum operated brake booster.. If you are having fluid leaking at the rod that attaches the brake pedal to the booster it is a bad Master Cylinder. The Brake fluid will eventually destroy the diaphram in the booster if it hasn't already. . Replace or rebuild the Master Cylinder and wash the brake fluid out of the booster. When the booster goes bad the brake pedal will become very hard to push.. because you will have lost "boost" This is not really a hard job. If fluid id leaking somewhere else.it should be very easy to spot.. Brake fluid looks like oil leaking..

Brake pedal loosing pressure


Honda had two brake reservoirs one on the normal brake master cylinder the other on the ABS module. If abs fuse has no power the module has no power. that power comes from the main fuses in underhood fuse box. the abs system is supplement system to normal braking system loss of brake pedal is a air problem or drum brake adjustment problem or a loose wheel bearing pushing the caliper piston back into caliper requiring more fluid to get brake to work causing a low pedal.

No brake fluid reaching rear brakes


Your problem could be several things #1 Are you bleeding the brakes properly , start at passenger side rear wheel. Have someone t sit in drivers seat Have them push brake pedal down ,open bleeder.,close bleeder ,have them let brake pedal up . push pedal down again ,you open bleeder again than close bleeder,have brake pedal up continue doing this until a stream of brake fluid without air comes out.( never pump the brake pedal while bleeding) if this is not working after 30 or more cycles you may need to replace your master cylinder. if this was helpful please leave goodback

BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD WHILE BREAKING


brake switch bad, system needs bled, rear brake circuit probably has air in fluid, fluid is no doubt contaminated, nobody addresses this maintainance problem, bleed entire brake system, replace all fluid w/ new. if fluid in the master cylinder is black, seals are bad, some brake systems have a pump as part of master cylinder, these pumps run off fuses , 25amp, etc., check what system you have. is your fluid level correct ? the switch I refer to is @ proportioning valve below master cylinder @ frame, see abs brakes use this valve to prevent skidding, rear brakes must come on first, before front brakes. if valve is not in balance a hard brake pedal occurs, as with low fluid levels. does your brake light come on ? @ dash. have a brake shop bleed your system, if there's a problem they'll find it for you, let them do it, don't wast your time.

Brake lines leak bad


Any auto parts outlet will carry replacement brake lines and connectors.Not costly either,except for the connectors,their brass.I replace all brake lines every time I build another vehicle in this manner.After all lines are replaced,go to the brake bleeder farthest from the master cylinder and take it out.Fill the master cylinder,and the brake will bleed themselves with gravity.omce fluid comes out of the farthest,close it off .Then,Go to the closest to m-cylinder,having someone push the brake pedal to bleed it out and so forth for the others.Rigger

Air in the fluid master cylinder


Do you mean the brake master cylinder? As long as the fluid is at the full mark, and you have no air in the brake lines, it is fine. A spongy brake pedal and poor braking operation happens when air is in the lines. Air can get into the lines when the fluid in the master cylinder is very low, almost out, or when a brake line is pulled apart (like when replacing calipers). To get the air out, one has to bleed the brakes-starting at the rear tires-the longest run from the master cylinder-and ending at the driver's wheel -nearest the master cylinder. Opening the bleed valve at each wheel in turn and pumping the brakes will force fluid into the lines and push the air out the bleed valve. When done properly, all the air in the brake lines should be expelled, and the brake pedal returns to it's firm pedal and good braking efficiency.

The air seeping is a dead giveaway. Your power brakes are now manual brakes, but stiffer. The diaphram in the brake booster has torn and the hissing noise is the engine vacuum escaping (you hear it louder when you depress the pedal right?). Replace the booster and you will be fine. The brake lights probably don't work because you can't push the pedal down far enought to release the switch. Please rate. Thanks.

Is the master cylinder good? a bad master can cause this also did you bleed the master first before bleeding at the wheel and also make sure the bleeder screw is clean, if the hose is good then theres only a few things, a bad master or a master that wasnt bleed, try bleeding the master first then try rebleeding the brakes.
