Question about 1996 Chevrolet Camaro
I have a 96 camaro that i bought off of my buddy for cheap becuase he didnt know what to do with it. The whole car shakes when it starts going into higher rpms. I checked the basic stuff but it still does it. I have been told it could either be the harmonic balancer, the motor mounts are bad, or the balance shaft could be off. It seems to not shake at all when i am going to 65 but its also cause its at 1500 rpms. I just want some info before i start ripping into the motor. Thanks.
Hook up a fuel pressure gauge to rule out a failing fuel pump/ regulator and filter and report back with the pressure readings we start here. Also check the injector/s -have helper crank engine over and you listen to it if its clicking in a uniformity manner or use a noid lite.
The fuel pressure should be 41-47psi yours is on the low side, Fuel injector solenoid resistance is 11.8-12.6 ohms. If the fuel filter has not been replaced, try with that also and add some fuel injector cleaner every time you fill up with gas for the next three fill ups. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running 100%
