The Mazda, B3 engine, 1300cc was fitted with a black distributor cap held in place with 3 metal screws. Find the screws and unscrew them and remove the cap.

1994 mazda v6 b3000 what should the rotor be pointing at ?? i pointed it to the number 1 on the distributor cap but it just spends and puffs a lil bit like it whats to start but nothing...

It should be pointing at #1 cyl when that piston is at top dead center. Usually when you replace the rotor button it only goes on one way. if your B3000 is not cranking back up you don't have it installed correctly. there is usually a groove that the rotor button sits in and if it's not sitting in the distributor properly then you usually won't get the cap back on nor will the truck run right until it is installed in the proper position

My 94 mazda protage has the 1.8 it started running rough, when you put it in drive it does not want to idle very good. it almost dies,i changed the spark plugs and rotor but that did not seem to help could...

Wires and distributor cap too-they should be changed if you are going to rule out ignition problems. You can check the wires with a digital meter, but if you know they haven't been replaced in a while, do that-distributor caps are a little trickier in that they can hairline cracks or 'carbon' tracks that can disrupt the spark.

Code 17 on a mazda 626 1992 lx what does it mean

The OBD-1 two digits trouble codes listed 'code-17' as:
Oxygen sensor.

This means that the fuel and ignition systems performance are in need of attention.

1.Distributor Cap: remove the 3-bolts holding the distriboutr to its body.
2. Inspect the distributor cap for cracks, and the roror-button is not worn or broken.
3. Inspect the distributor-cap terminals are not corroded or charred. Replace if charred. Clean them out if corroded.
4. Check the distributor-rotor for cracks or corrosion on its tip, and lesser spring tension.
Replace as necessary.
5. Reverse steps 1-4 to re-install distributor cap. Be sure to remove and replace the plug wires from the old distributor-cap to the new distributor-cap one-by-one. If not, the engine would not run.

Fuel-Filter:
1. Undo the top clips holding the fuel-filter hose, and undo the lower clips also.
2. Take out the fuel-filter from its mount.
3. Replace the fuel filter as necessary.(please not the way it was mounted) Reverse removal for installation.
