If it is an auto trans. then the answer is yes. throttle control lever syncronize with the engine so both engine and trans work together.

93 honda accord ex won't upshift at all replace tcu same issues . At first was fine now it's worse after changed tcu. Is the tranny shot . Also replaced vsp and seloniods? Any ideas ?

if there are no noises and the transmission shifts properly when it works , then a replacement transmission should be the last consideration
controls in the transmission are electronic and are shared by the VSS ( vehicle speed sensor ) . TR sensor ( transmission ratio sensor) and the TCM
the wiring may be your problem and a problem vacuum actuator is indicated as that tells the rest when to change in relation to throttle opening
if you have not changed the oil in the last 5 years or 60,000 miles , that would be a good place to start

I need to no how to take my 1994 honda accord transmission down and put back together

If you have Nantes book it will help slot also go to autozone and rent a tranny jack if not u can take a 2/12ton floor jack take a tie down and have someone help balance tranny as u slowly pull it out and lower down also if has quick fit tranny line (white snap ring on end of line securing line into tranny) u can use small flat head screwdriver use litte pressure to push in and pull on line in stead of wasting money on that tool if it's a hydraulic quick connect hope this helps but buy the manual it will help so much for the do it yourself guy

check for trouble codes, even if a check engine or service engine soon light is not present a code my be present. i have seen faulty throttle positioning sensors cause transmission issues or it could be an internal issue ( i recently had a simular issue with a 200 jeep XJ where the transmission wasnt shifting when it should and it ended up being an worn out adjustment inside the transmission) it could also be your kickdown linkage is just out of adjustment ( the cable that goes from your throttle body to your transmission to let your transmission know to downshift when your putting your foot into the throttle)

I had to remove the auto transmission from my 91 accord to repair stripped bellhousing bolt threads in the engine block. after i put the transmission back in the car runs ok. it shifts a little hard. the...

You have to go back over the reinstall of the trans. All you did.
You put the problem in the vehicle.
I own a trans shop years ago, and saw this happen, way too many times.
Mistakes my friend, you have to remember everything going out and going back.
You better find out how to adjust the throttle control, before you ruin the trans.
Sorry,I have been away from the business awhile and can't help, without being there.

94 Accord Ex 2.2l Vtec will not engage passing gear

Sounds like it could be a problem something to do with the clutch perhaps? If the clutch or other components of the tranny are malfunctioning then it could very well be the source of quite a few elusive problems, and unfortunately the transmission on Honda's are known for hard-shifting, so i would have the transmission diagnosed just to see if everything checks out A-OK. Let me know how it goes!

My drive 4 light on my honda accord wagon is

There are two speed sensors. One is on the tranny under the throttle bosy and one is under the tranny.

This is the one under the throttle body
This is the one under the tranny near the right wheel. The Countershaft speed sensor is the best bet. i replaced this one on a 1995 honda accord with flashing d4 and after replacement it was gone.the part will be about 125 bucks.

My car has a transmission problem

Sounds like a tranny valve body problem. There's a down shift cable attatched to the throttle linkage (where the accelerater cable is). That cable may not be adjusted right. However if you dissconnect the cable from the throttle linkage try to pull the cable out to where it stops(it'll retract by itself). Then let it snap back.(repeat a couple times). This may unstick a vavle in the valve body

1994 honda accord speedometer finally stopped working

Remove the cluster and send to a cluster specialist. if he finds nothing wrong, you should not be charged for this(ask first). If the cluster is fine, check the cables and/or the sensors that run into the tranny.

If it is the ckluster, the specialist can fix and reinstall.

I have a 1994 Honda Accord LX sedan and the speedometer just stopped working. My mechanic just put in a transmission that he bought from a junk yard. How do i fix this problem?

I have a 99 accord and my speedometer and odometer did not work. The problem was the VSS vehicle speed sensor. The VSS is located on the transmission. Once I replaced it everything worked fine.
