Cv axle has a worn spot in it. Bearings can do this also. But the click will go away turning one way, and get louder turning the other way. To check the CV axle is has to come out. Grab the center shaft and twist and rotate the outer ends. If they are not smooth when doing this(feel a bump). It is 100% the axle.

Howling sound from my front tire area when driving 25 mph +

Sounds a lot like you have a bad wheel bearing. Yours is a complete bearing/hub assembly.
Often you will feel no looseness or hear no noise from there if the wheels are off the ground as the bearing is not loaded by the vehicles weight and since they are built fairly tough, unless it is really bad, it won't have any play either. Just figure out which side is making noise and replace it.
The work isn't too difficult if you get a manual and just follow the instructions. Haynes and chilton are both OK for that.

2002 aurora -- noise comes from the drivers side during startup and then stops

If the noise is from in front of the L.F. tire then it sounds like this is from the Air Injection Blower. It runs when the engine is cols as part of the emissions system. The blower may be going bad and making more noise than before. You can see the blower easily by removing the plastic wheel well shield from the front wheel well after removing the tire.

Grinding noise on 2002 Olds Bravada

Try making tight turns to the right and then to the left. see if the grinding noise comes and goes. It could be your C/V joint and they need to be replaced. The noise will only come when your making the tight turns, you don't have to go fast. Walking speed will do and you can hear it with the window open or someone walking beside the Bravada. Good luck and keep me posted. Be glad to help.

Front-end makes a low rattle noise when hitting rough spots

I have experienced the same rattle on a 2002 Bravada since about 50,000 miles. I have had tie rods replaced. Later, I had tires rotated at a tire/maintenance shop and they showed me a slight amount of movement in the ball joints. They wanted to change them. I took it to a dealership. They checked the ball joints and said some play is normal but didn't recommend changing them. I am wondering if the noise is in the struts. It occurs on a slightly rough roads and even backing out of a driveway when the shocks/struts are working rapidly.

I have a loud tapping noise sometimes, coming from under my dash (drivers side). It sounds as if someone is tapping with a hammer on the plastic. I have a 2002 Ols bravada. It it safe to drive?

The AC/Heater unit has electric motors the open and close all the vents and heat to cold doors. when these electric motors begin to open or close past their stop points, the motor try to continue to open and close itself properly, thus fourth its tapping all the time. to see which one it is, turn the heater control to cold and slowly to hot. most of the time, its the heater door. if not, do the same with the vent control. the problem is common withe the GM SUV's.
