Question about 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe

I have a 2004 santa fe and every time you fill it up it doesnt want to start. you have to push the peddle all the way to the floor before it finaly stars. My son is a chrysler mechanic and he changed the canister and filters in it and as soon as he filled it up with gas it didnt want to start. any help would be appreceated. Thank You Phil Brown

    Well im not sure yet but its worth a try, I asked my sun about the fuel pump and he seemed to think if it was i would have more problems than what i do.

I think in the end you will find the fuel pump is defective.

    It's not the fuel pump or the canister. It' the purge valve next to the vapor canister under the car in front of the gas tank.
    When you turn off the car the purge valve shuts not letting gas into the canister as you fill up the car. When you turn the key on the purge valve opens allowing vapors to be recirculated through the canister and pcv valve.
    When the purge valve fails or does not shut all the way gas goes into the vapor canister causing a very rich mixture of fuel to the engine and it will not start.
    So replace the valve or pump the accelerator as you start it and let it rev up to about 1000rpm until it will idle on its own.

03 Santa fe ..sometime brake peddle gos to floor .fluid pads ,rotor like new ,no fluid leaks .. any help would be great


With some abs systems the pedal will go almost to the floor if pressed hard enough.How hard are you pushing it? Is there a braking problem?If so,make sure there is no air in the system[bleed the brakes] .If the problem persists, the master cylinder may be at fault.Good Luck!

Car won't start after filling up the gas tank.


Just helped a friend fix this exact same issue on his 2004 hyundai santa fe. Replaced the purge control valve - a $39 part, even from the dealer. Had to get our hands dirty, but it took literally one single hour to replace the part. Filled it up immediately afterward and no more starting problems. Part is located directly behind the manifold - top, rear of the engine compartment - just between the engine

Hyundai santa fe 2004 how can i install two front seat,


2 bolts in each of the seats' floor rails... total of 8. Wire harness connectors may not be the same power seat control harness, seat heaters, etc. Research of connectors shows floor harness connectors are identical between 04 & 05. However, optional features like seat warmers in the wire harness of the 05 model may not exist in the other and vise versa.

No engine cranks will not start


I had this same problem on my 2004 Santa Fe with the 3.4L engine. I had it towed to the dealer. WhenI called them back they said there was nothing wrong with it. (they didn't charge me either) What they said was that this problem occurs if your car does not start right away and you continue to try to start it. The solution is to push the accelerator to the floor and then turn the key to start it. I know, we've all been taught that you don't need to "pump" the accelerator with a car that has fuel injection. I had the same problem a few weeks ago, did what I described above, and the car started fine.

How do I bleed my brakes on my Santa Fe?


There is a bleeder valve on the top of the caliper. Have another person pump the brake (WHILE THE CAR IS OFF) until the brake is solid with pressure. Now have them continue to apply pressure by slowly turning the bleeder valve counter clockwise until you hear air or see fluid being expelled. Once the brake pedal pumper has pushed the peddle to the floor have him keep pressure on the peddle until you re-tighten the bleeder valve. DO NOT HAVE HIM RELEASE PRESSURE WHILE THE VALVE IS OPEN or air can make its way to the master cylinder. Start with the tire furthest away from the master cylinder and work towards it. I know you are thinking, "but only one caliper has air in it". This does not matter once air is induced into the brake system. Each and every caliper must be bled to maintain safety and failure to do so can cost your your life along with someone elses.
