No cold air on drivers half of the care

There are two temp gages for the car the driver and the passenger sides. The drivers adjustable temp nob when turn down to cold only blows hot air. we have been able to play with it and get it to work in the past but now it has been hot air and will not get cold. I look in the owners maual and saw there are fuses under the hood for the a/c / heater. Is that were I should start or do you have anyother suggestions or ideas ..... Please help I HOT>..... note: The passengers side works fine, heat or a/c.

There is a part in the dash called an Air Temperature Control Blend Door Actuator Motor, this is the common fault for this issue, replace it.

Heat problem

They are called blend door motors and if I am not mistaken that car has one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. The way you tell if they are working is gain access under the dash to them and turn the temperature nob from cold to hot and watch to see if the actuator moves and then back. It could be stuff clogging the vents too. Or possibly a clogged heater core.

Driver side heat blows cool air passenger side blows hot air. Both thermostats are on hot, recently had no heat flushed radiator and got half heat

Hello, this is cused by the drivers side temp door actuator. there are two electric motors that move the temp doors from cold to hot. there is one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side. you will need to replace the one for the drivers side.

  • Remove the left instrument panel (I/P) insulator.
  • Remove the knee bolster bracket bracket. Disconnect the electrical connector from the left air temperature actuator.
  • Remove the mounting screws from the left air temperature actuator.
  • Remove the left air temperature actuator.

I have a 2002 Envoy the drivers side air vent blows hot air and passenger side blows cold air not matter what the temp is set on

It's an ongoing problem with Envoy. I had the same problem on the drivers side not getting cold air. It cost me $600. They said it was a door inside the dash that diverts the cold air and the hot air depending on what you want. Worked good for a year, and now the passenger side gets cold air and not hot. Another $600 going out the door.
The repair shop said that sometimes they can adjust it, but most of the time they have to replace it. Good Luck

i've been down here too myself, and discovered that the temp control motor, located in the bottom of the glove box, which you can access by clearing all your stuff in in and opening a small door.
you can adjust it manually, and see if it changes, if yes, the switch can be defective, as well as the motor, the switch is the most likely problem.
    but adjust it manually first.
