I would question your children " if you have any" if they have put anything in the cd slot, I work at a dealership and we find a lot of problems with the van radios are very nice children like to play and put small change into the cd slot, which shorts out the internal components of the radio, if you remove the radio, dash piece just pops off then 4 screws hold radio in, and shake it you should not hear anything rattling around in it.

What is it when my car a ford Freestar 2004 makes a clacking sound when I accelerate or going up a hill?

Should we go to some book & find the answer from a list?

Your smart enough to know it is not a guessing game, to
figure out vehicle problems

You have to be knowledgeable & follow some sort of way
to diagnose or test those things & your noise issue is a real
challenge for sure, not easy to find

Electrical problem

Sounds like the computer is confused or fried. You might try removing the battery cable for about a minute and then putting it back on. You will probably have to reset the radio codes after doing that. If that doesn't work the unit may have to be replaced.

Need the securtiy number for a ford freestart 2004 ltd serial number is2FMDA582X4BA80232

The radio SERIAL NUMBER is required for a code
Sometimes pressing buttons 6 & 1 together or 6 & 2 will display your Serial Number Otherwise remove the radio from the dashboard and post the SERIAL NUMBER found on a label on the casing
It usually begins with M++++++ or V++++++ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chrirping sound when you accelerate in 2004 ford freestar. The Camshaft sensor was just replaced.

The camshaft sensor is mounted on a camshaft sycronizer (replaces distributor). Check for play up or down or back & forth. Most likely there is play & it will causes a chirping noise & burn out that new sensor prematurely. If there is play it will need to be replaced.

04' Ford FreeStar - The Radio Stay On When Van Is Off

Nothing wrong with it. When you remove the key, it stays on for about 20 minutes. It gives you time to finish listening to your radio and roll up the window. Once the driver door is open, everything shuts off or if 20 minutes has passed.
