Try a new fuel filter first. Does the check engine light come on? If so, the code must be read to continue.

My 2004 Jetta ran the following codes: P0011 (camshaft) and P2181. Symptoms: binding between 3-4 and losing coolant. Mechanic told me it was a transmission problem, and I paid $2600 to have it replaced,...

Take it to the mechanic - w/your receipt for the replaced transmission and ask ' nicely' to fix the issue. If it worked fine for 6 months but the SAME issue came back then it's likely the transmission.

My car is running codes P0011 and P2181. Can you tell me what that is please. 2004 vw jetta gl

P0011 - Camshaft positioning sensor
P2181 - Engine cooling temperature sensor.
If you have a repair manual (chilton/haynes/etc) these should be fairly simple fixes.
Camshaft positioning sensor for my car was $35 and took about 15 minutes to change.

2carpros.com suggested the P2181 is also fairly easy to replace

Jetta 2006 tdi highline i bought 6 months ago i thought is a good car but now i can see black smoke and lost power i send to garage and the mecanic work somthing on timing he say here is 2.5 and i will...

Black smoke from the tail pipe means the engine is not getting any air like a dirty air filter. I think your mechanic is telling you is that you need a new turbo. The turbo boost incoming air pressure to the engine and if it is bad then it will not let enough air into the engine causing black smoke from the tail pipe.

a voltage check doesnt tell you alot with a coil... check resistance on primary and secondary circuits of coil to test it... ignition module controls coil so if its ok id go after the module... see foriegn cars are no different they break down just as much, its just way more expensive...keep your head up...

Most probably a leaking water pump. G12 radiator fluid is red, but so is automatic transmission fluid.
The water pump is driven by the belt near the air filter. Park ur car and let it run, look underneath ur car to see where it's leaking from.
Radiator fluid is slightly oily and has a sweet smell to it. Touch the fluid off the ground and smell it.

Is ur car automatic or manual? Which engine?? 1.8 or 2.0?

Get back to me so we can figure out ur next move.
