Bathroom plumbing parts list supply line connections cracked (frozen). I have opened the wall behind the bathtub faucet, and can see the problem, but I don't have a clue as to how to repair them. I am thinking that I will have to splice two new lines in. Thanks

Tell me what you see. I'm not sure what you mean. You should see a hot and cold line that is either galvinized or copper. If one or both are burst from line getting froze, The line must be replaced, screwing in new galv. or soldering if copper.

You'll have a hot water and cold water supply. Where its connected at the mixing valve you will see two threaded fittings soldered to the supply pipes. Is the leak at the fittings or is the supply lines busted?

Your best to get someone with experience in repairing the lines,..you could make terrible errors not knowing the routine,...watch him/her and the next time you could do it. very dangerous without knowledge of how to do it.

You must replace the cracked lines. there may be more damage than you think, and then you will have to hire a plumber down the road .

Yea-but really depends on what type of supply lines...ie-pvc cut and splice (with pvc cement)-or look for female adaptor then replace. copper?- splice then flare or sodder. or just the cheap 1/4 in flexible supply lines-unscrew and purchase new.

Do you mean you will sweat two new copper lines in? if so this would be the correct way of doing it since they were damaged when they initially froze. if they froze due to being on an exterior wall then try to relocate them through the floor instead of the wall so that they do not have this problem again. make sure there is pipe insulation around them as well.

If you don't know how to sweat copper the best way is cut out the split, and replace with compression couplings and the rite size and length of copper. or you can use sharkbite couplings and pex pipe or copper. sharkbite is the easiest way to go,you just push them together. home depo or lowes carry both

This is a water supply line. Stainless steel flexible. Available at Home Depot & Lowes. I have more luck at Home Depot finding someone in plumbing who knows what they are talking about. I'd take this part with you to store. They come in different sizes & lengths.

Drain out all the water in the pipes for hot and cold then put in Potable antifreeze.. Not the kind for your radiator. Leave all water faucets open so any water left behind won't build up pressure and crack a pipe. Make sure the coolant in the radiator tests good for the temperature you expect to see. Adjust radiator antifreeze as necessary.

1998 Regal GS, a/c started switching from vent to floor upon acceleration, now it will only blow to the floor and wont switch to max.

Hi, it is likely the connection of the vacuum hose to the intake manifold has cracked. There is a thin plastic vacuum line that goes from the engine to the a/c control panel and supplies vacuum to the mode switch. The line usually has a short hose or elbow on the engine end that can get old and crack. Find the line as it penetrates the firewall behind the engine and trace it to the intake manifold. If that part is good, the problem may be the mode switch itself. If the mode switch is bad, you can usually hear it leaking vacuum by putting your ear near the switch with the engine running. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

No air from dash vents

They are vac. controled. The leak could be behind the controls, but first check under the hood usually near the fire wall and check for any cracked or broken vac. lines and repair as necc. this should solve your problem. The vac. lines under the hood go bad first due to engine heat. If you have a length of line to replace make sure you use vac. line so it wont collapse. Soft softs in vac. lines is another sign of a bad line replace these also.
