Question about 2002 Nissan Xterra
Ckenby: I hate to be a party crasher, but being a Nissan Master Tech, I would have to differ "juncro" on the answer.
If the engine is turning when the belt breaks, your upper end will be scrap metal if it is turning more than an idle.
Unfortunately, all of Nissan's engines with timing belts that I know of are interference fit engines. There are pros and cons to those designs.
