I have a 8287 series, when I was lifting the jacks a role pin fell out of somewhere and now the passenger side jack will not move up or down, we're was that role pin located so I can fix this

Hello Doug...

No hits on "8287" as a meaningful jack "IDENTITY".

Just a guess here... but if you want to get that jack out... you'd be wise to get a block of wood... a jack stand... and relieve the DISABLED jack... by jacking higher (installment plan).

Stuck jacks can be quite dangerous...
Get it out of there... Then (and ONLY then)

Look to the handle linkage... for your "roll-pin"...

You will be proud

Tire changing jack location AND using someone elses jack

The jacks for these vehicles are usually under the hood. They are a hydraulic bottle type jack and the tools to operate it are usually located elsewhere in the vehicle. Your owners manual will tell you where everything is and how to use it. The jacks supplied with these vehicles, however, often don't work due to lack of use. You can use a jack from another vehicle as long as it is meant for a truck and not a car. The jack needs to be placed under the axle casing closest to the wheel you are removing. Range Rovers came from the factory with air suspension and jacking any place other than under the axle may result in an air suspension fault. Your vehicle may have been converted to coil springs, but still should be raised under the axle. Just make sure that the part of the jack that contacts the axle cradles it in some way. The factory jacks have a "V" shaped contact point so that the axle will not slide off of the jack while it is in the air. Your best bet is to loosen the lug nuts on the tire you are changing before you jack it up and wait until the vehicle is back on the ground to give the nuts the final tightening. The lug nut size is 1-1/16".

How to install motor mounts on 2000 Nisan Quest?

Safely jack the car up, use jack stands, then using your jack and a piece of 2x4 wood between the jack and the engine block raise the jack until you just touch the engine. then loosen the motor mount bolts, before you remove the bolts raise the engine up slightly to take the weight off the mounts. then remove motor mount bolts and install new mount, install bolts tighten per torque spec by manufacturer and lower engine, remove jack and jack stands. done.

Jacking points on all Jeep vehicles

c17hydro_1.gif

Your Jeep was supplied with a jack for emergency road repairs. This jack is fine for changing a flat tire or other short-term procedures not requiring you to go beneath the vehicle. Do not attempt to use the jack on any portions of the vehicle other than specified by the vehicle manufacturer. Always block the diagonally opposite wheel when using a jack.

Placing a floor jack under the front frame rail

Placing a floor jack under the rear frame rail at the leaf spring shackle. It may be necessary to place a block of wood between the frame rail and the jack

Supporting the front of the vehicle with jack stands placed under each frame rail

A more convenient way of jacking is the use of a garage or floor jack. You may use the floor jack at the specified points in following the illustrations.

Never place the jack under the radiator, engine or transmission components. Severe and expensive damage will result when the jack is raised. Additionally, never jack under the floorpan or bodywork; the metal will deform

Jacking point for 1990 Toy Camry center of front.

Probably best to do one side at a time, there is a frame underneath the passenger and drivers sides that you can jack up on, or you can jack up on the pinchweld located behind the tires, though probably best to go on the frame.
Then use jackstands, and should work good. or can just do one side at a time.
