First need to know what engine, and how much your willing to spend? You could add underdrive pullys, a better throttle body or even a new intake to get some more power, Also could change the gearing in your front and rear axles to a lower gear raito to change where your pwer would be more usefull I.E. 3.20: 1 would make it faster overall but 4.10:1 would make it faster of the line or more capiable for towing. hope that helps.

Obd code C0502 on 97 chevy k1500

CO502 is a Vehicle Speed Sensor Code. I'm working on trying to resolve an issue with my own right now. I know I had some wiring issues a while back with the VSS and thought I had it all resolved. I didn't know that I still had an issue until I was installing my Hypertech Max Energy Power Programmer today when it gave me this code.

I bought a 1997 Chevy Silverado recently,Like the pickup but not the mileage and not so much the performance. I want to stay pretty much stock. I plan on getting some platinum NGK plugs for it. It has new...

Let me help you kill two birds with one stone. I own a 2001 chevy s10 pickup. I wanted more power and better gas milage, so I installed a cold air intake. With a cold air intake, your engine will ignite more oxygen, therefore saving gas. It also boasts your horsepower quite a bit that you can feel in your performance. I don't know about those performance chips. There are rumors about them that they do not work at all.

How do i bypass the governer?

you have to get a programmer such as a hypertech max energy product. and you have to get one specific to the model of your car. there are many different brands but that should get you in the right direction. remember the govener is set to the speed rating of your tires.

How do I change the cooling fans to kick on sooner than they do? I live in the desert and its very hot! I put in a new thermostat which is better suited for my climate...but how do I get the fans to kick...

The only fix I have found besides adding a switch to the common terminal of the fan relay, and a ground, is to pick up the following ECU programmer from Corvette Central:

Hypertech's Max Energy Programmer allows you to set engine cooling fan on/off settings, set top-speed limiter, engine RPM "Rev" limiter and even transmission shift points and firmness. Hypertech's Corvette Max Energy Programmers also allow you to return to stock settings or change settings anytime. Have you changed your tire and wheel size or differential, if so, and then you can make your speedometer corrections by using Hypertech's Max Energy Programmer.

It costs around $400 bucks, so definitely not a cheap fix, but it is a better fix.

1997 chevy want alot of horsepower and speed

Just a note, if this is an unaltered system, it should contain a sequential fuel injection system, which does not use a conventional throttle body. It uses a spider system instead, which is much different than the pre 1996 models.

I want to speed up my 2007 grand cherokee overland

Best bet is to start with an aftemarket performance air intake. (ex-K &N, AEM). Exhaust (flowmaster) is the next step. with those two you should an additional 15 ish horses. next step would a chip module. (ex-hypertech). Additional horses for you.

Intake will give you instant results. Throttle response, air flow, and a better sound
Exhaust. Will sound great. May not notice the performance portion, but needed.
Chip Module. Your biggest expense without getting in big, but will take your jeep to the next level. lets your jeep open up and remove rev limits and such. Fun to play with and works. Don't fall trap to knock offs. You find a whole lot junk like on ebay. Stick to the heavy hitters with this. (Jet/Hypertech to name a couple.)
Check out to look at some performance parts. There a decent site with a lot to look at. Have fun.

2003 chevy silverado runs rich with black smut in tail pipes!

You have upset the air flow meter You need to replace the air box lid.the flow of air past the airflow meter must be comsistant and surge free.the factory match the flow of air to the afm and they are like siamese twins, they are a matched pair.If you return the air box and rest of air intake to factory parts your problem will go away.Im sure these problems began to appear when you started changing parts and cutting holes.Good luck
