thank you for your help, but its not the radiator, fan works. two radiator hoses coming in/out to engine. the hose to the water pump in cool when running. the one coming from the engine to the radiator is extremely hot causing the over flow tank to boil out..

Try blowing the radiator fins out (from the inside) with compressed air--bugs and other debris can clog the air flow. Do the radiator fan(s) run when hot? If not, check for blown fuse, seized fan motor(s), bad relay, or bad engine thermal sensor. Is it losing coolant water from somewhere?

Was reviewing this item. From your later description of extremely hot water coming OUT of the engine, I would suspect a combustion chamber leak into the cooling system (a blown head gasket or warped head). The way to check for this (cold engine) is to remove the drive belt to the water pump, remove the radiator cap, and start the engine. If leakage is occurring, there will be bubbles coming up into the radiator. It should do this when fairly cold, so don't run the test any longer than necessary. If you get bubbles, plan on engine work--remove the heads, check for flatness (and surfacing of heads if necessary) of mating surfaces and replacement of head gaskets.

Have a compression test done to confirm that there is not a headgasket/cylinder head failure. Modern aluminum heads are prone to warping with just one over heating. If that tests ok then check your water pump and make sure your coolant syatem was bled of any air.

Can a bad heater core cause your vehicle to overheat? I have a 1994 GMC Suburban

I WOULD SAY NO BECAUSE WATER ONLY CIRCULATES WHEN YOU TURN ON THE HEATER, BUT IF YOUR VEHICHLE CONTINUES TO OVERHEAT IT COULD BE 5 THINGS. CLOGGED RADIATOR,RADIATER HOSES.THERMOSTAT,RADIATER FAN SENSOR OR THE WATER PUMP

REPLACE THERMOSTAT-1999 LEXUS GS 300

Just follow the upper radiator to the engine, the thermostat is under the cover that the upper radiator hose attaches to on the engine. Make sure to bleed the air out of the system after draining it to replace T Stat or the engine will overheat and damage a head gasket..

Where is the thermostat located in a 93 lexus gs 300

The thermostat is located on the side of the engine block which follow the bottom radiator hose, it should have 2 nuts on it. You should also temporary remove the air intake hose for ease of access and remove the thermostat.

You probably never cleaned the cooling system out.

If you have not get it done by pros.

It seems something is blocking the flow. If the water pump went bad you will know. Rarely ever heard a impeller breaks off like you think. The bearings and the seal break first.

Check and see also if the heater valve is working.

As for the over heating even new thermostats fail. Reverse flush is needed or the procan measure the pressure in the radiator cooling system and edetermine if there is a engine pressure problem. Tools and experience is the key in the game of diagnosis.

You could have a cracked head gasket take it to a mechanic and have them test it to see if there are exghaust fumes comeing from the radiator fluid i had a ford contour that i changed thermostat and radiator and found out it was a cracked head/headgasket
