Take the drive shaft off. loosen from cross member, then bolts attaching it to engine.usually 5 or 6. block transmission before removing any bolts.

Problem started with a small vibration on the front of the engine thot it was the fanthe noise would later worsen off everytime i step on the the gears sometimes wont shift.

Could be several issues.
1. the two piece main crank pulley could be separating: replace it.
2. The transmission could be loose: check the four bolts that secure it to the engine. A loose transmission causes lots of vibration and hard changes because the main shaft misalignment,.Sometimes transmission bolts actually vibrate out.
3. The clutch is failing and will need to be replaced.

Need to remove engine

First remove the air cleaner assembly and battery, then unplug all the sensors, drain radiator and remove hoses, remove all vacuum lines tie the ac compressor out of the way remove it and the PS pump from the block, then unbolt the exhaust manifold and unbolt the two bolts that secure the oil pan to the exhaust downpipe, remove the starter, then loosten all the bolts securing the oil pan to the transmission, remove the torque converter bolts (if AT) loosten the bolts securing the engine to the transmission, with the engine hoist supporting the engine weight remove the engine mount, if it is an automatic make sure you separate the engine from the torque converter.
It is not really that hard or complicated, just requires patience if you are unfamilar with the procedures it may be helpful for you to review the procedures in a chilton or hanes manual, if none are available check the procedures for a Mazda protege, kia sephia, or a ford escort GT since all these cars and your kia Rio use the Mazda BG designed engine

1995 blazer transmission change out

There are like 6 bolts around the bell housing that bolt the transmission to the engine. Two transmission lines that need to be removed from the transmission, linkage for shifter, driveshaft, started,(disconect the battery) torque converter bolts and a few other small conections. The main thing is that when you are assembling it that the converter is all the way in the transmission. If not, the transmission will not **** to the engine and you may try to tighten the bolt which will bust the ears off the bellhousing on the transmission. Just don't force anything.

Replacing the transmission in my 2000 chevy truck 5.3 four wheel halfton got the tranny and the tourqe converter is still on the flywheel but can't figure a way too loosten the tourqes holding it to...

You'll need a box end wrench and a pry bar. Use the pry bar to hold the ring gear against the motor while you use the box end wrench to remove one bolt. Then rotate the engine with the bar to bring the next bolt around to where you can get the wrench on it. Repeat until you have the bolts off. Do not lose those bolts. If you do they will have to be ordered at the dealer.
When you put the torque convertor back in the transmission it has to go in two steps. It will slide in so far and then you will have to turn and push until it goes in again. If you don't do this the trans will not mount flush with the engine. When it's in the transmission properly it should sit about an inch inside the housing. Hope this helps.

How do I change the tranny fluid in my 1998 cadillac catera

Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair
Transmission Fluid and Oil Filter Changing
1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lift Points.
2. Place drain pan under pan
3. Remove oil pan bolts from front and sides only.
4. Loosen the rear oil pan bolts approximately four turns.
5. Lightly tap the oil pan with a rubber mallet or pry to drain the fluid from main case.
6. Remove the oil pan bolts from rear oil pan and gasket.
7. Remove front oil pan bolts leaving one corner bolt in loosely.
8. Lightly tap oil pan with rubber mallet or pry to drain fluid.
9. Remove the following remaining components:
^ The front oil pan bolts
^ The oil pan
^ The gasket
10. Remove the oil filter bolts and filter.
11. Clean the following components:
^ The transmission case
^ The front adapter case
^ The oil pan gasket surfaces with solvent
^ Air dry
^ All traces of gasket material must be removed
1. Install the gasket.
2. Install the oil filter.
3. Install the bolts.
^ Tighten the transmission oil filter bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
4. Install the front oil pan.
5. Install the front oil pan gasket
6. Install the front oil pan bolts
^ Tighten the front oil pan bolts to 11 Nm (96 inch lbs.).
7. Install the following components:
^ Install the pan
^ Install the gasket
^ Install the bolts
^ Tighten the oil pan bolts to 11 Nm (96 inch lbs.).
8. Refill the transmission with DEXRON III through oil pan fill plug on the side of the (main case) oil pan. Fill the transmission to lower edge of oil
pan fill. Fill plug opening using and oil suction gun.
^ Tighten the oil pan fill plug to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Check the transmission fluid level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Checking Procedure.

How do i get the power steering belt off so i can

chryslers usualy use a spring loaded belt tensioner (Idle pulley) first put a long wrench on the nut/Bolt head holding the pulley on and pull it to loosten,
the bolt is left handed, so if it unscrews turn the other way
If this doesn't work look for a bolt in the block and a curved slot this has to be loostened, some have this lock bolt, some do not, so try twisting the pulley bolt first
If youv'e got a very long pull handle for your socket use it, the bolt's spring is very strong, if not, slip a length of pipr over your normal socket wrench
Should be easy once the pulley slacks off,
be careful of that spring, loosten your grip and it'l smack you a good one

I have a mitsibishi verada1997 - i need to change the fanbelt on top its fraying..can you help

the pulley between the crank and the air cond compressor is the tensioner, loosten the bolt in the middle of this pulley and from underneath the engine near the oil filter there is a 14mm bolt, unwind this and it will release the tension of the belt, replace the belt, tension with this 14mm bolt and tighten up the pulley.

Alternator problems

To change the alternator you do not have to romove or loosten the engin mounts. It is a tedious job but it can be done by loostening and removeing the bolts that hold the alternator on. There is also an adjuster on the alt. to tighten the belt up when it is replaced. You should have this done by a technician so you have a warranty with the job.
