    Thanks for the response

. I have not touched anything and will not attempt to do so either. Where is the MCS?

I was hoping it was a software glitch that could be reset since a menu item disappeared and it thinks I don't havce a CD.

Do you think it will be a difficult or time sonsuming fix. I'm trying to gauge how expensive it will be.

Hello there, sounds like the MCS sensor has lost communication with the radio head unit. If you did not move anything around inside the dash, or try to remove the stereo unit for any reason then something has failed internally. In this case you will definnitely want to get it checked out by a Mercedes Dealer as it's very easy to damage it further if you are unsure of what you're doing.

It is inside the Dashboard, you would have to pull apart the dash to get to it, I definitely do not recommend you try to fix it on your own. The reason it doesn't think there is a CD on the menu is the sensor isn't detecting your cd player for some reason so it really thinks it has been removed. Even if you get it to re-detect it there is a good chance the cd player will be in factory lock mode (a security feature to prevent someone from taking the cd player out and being able to hook it up elsewhere without going through the factory).

It's very hard to say, it could be something as simple as a technician getting in there and unplugging and replugging it or it could be that the output from the radio actually failed and you would need a new radio unit. I can't remember what the factory radio unit costs, but in your case with all the menus and everything tied to the radio you will want to stick with factory. Cross your fingers and hope its something simple!

How do I unlock car radio for a 2004 ML 350 Mercedes Benz?

You should have a code for the radio in your owner;s manual. If you are not the original owner and it is not there, the dealer should be able to provide it from your VIN.

After replacing the Battery in My 2003 ML 350, The radio stop working and the engine starts but do not idle. Does any one know what could be the cause of this problem

It's a Mercedes, so electrical issues are extremely common. The ML especially of that year is about the most problematic car Mercedes ever produced.
It has issues everywhere from short circuits due to the wiring shrouding breaking down over time, to ECMs/ECUs failing without necessarily any good reason to. As there are too many faults on that particular vehicle to mention, it won't be easy to diagnose this one over the internet. You will likely require an auto electrician, and perhaps not even just one workshop to manage all types of issues. My best advice once you've dealt with this one and the vehicle is working is to sell it. You won't stop working on expensive issues with this mark and model.

I have a 2003 mercedes ml 350 I need to type in security code but I cant type the code in because it says wait

  • When you get a message that says "wait" it is because the wrong code was entered incorrectly. Each time the word "wait" appears the wait is a little longer. The radio must be on during this "wait" time. When it goes away then enter the code correctly and you will have no problems.

  • Hope this helps.

2004 Toyota Corolla Verso has intermittant sound and control problems. The radio will play fine and suddenly the sound will go off as well as the back lights illuminating the radio face and knobs.trying to...

The problem sounds like intermittent power supply. There might be an inline fuse which sometimes does cause problems. Remove the radio and check the power line to see if there is such a fuse. If so, remove and clean it with a bit of sandpaper, put it all together and see if it helps.
Sorry, can't be more helpful.
