Yes.
1. When the oil level is low it does not start.

2. When oil level is too much it starts but shuts off.

Cheers and be careful.

Putting too much oil will KILL your car...blow seals, etc....best thing to do is drain the oil and refill to proper specs...depending on engine size....normally 4-5 quarts.

Gas is getting in my oil in a 350z Nissan. what should I check or could it be my computer telling injectors more gas]

You may have a faulty injector that fails to shut off and is constantly supplying fuel. During operation it may not be noticeable, but when you shut the car off, the injector will pour fuel into the empty cylinder until fuel pressure falls off. This fuel will leak down along the piston rings into the oil, contaminating it. This will eventually cause cylinder wall damage due to "washing", the fuel is removing the protective oil film on the cylinder wall. This will cause much more wear on each start-up. Have the injectors tested.

I have a 2004 pacifica oil is mixing with radiator

There is a bad gasket be it the head, intake or a crack in the block or head. Have it tested and yes you have oil in the engine also with the water. The oil genie didn't just put oil in the overflow it's all over. If the antifreeze gets to the valves mixed with oil it can cause the valves to stick shut or open

Did you top up the oil? some cars will shut down when the oil light comes on it usualy turns off the fuel pump and is a safey design of the car to stop the engine in a roll over situation and can also save your engine if it runs low on oil.

I have a 2007 chevy silverado. It was low on oil. I put 2 quarts in, oil light went off. When I drove it the low oil pressure light came on and also said engine shut down. What could be causing this...

If its reading low oil pressure I would first change your oil and filter.A clogged oil filter will cause your oil pressure to drop. Also remove your pressure sending unit and hook up a direct oil pressure guage to see what your actual pressure is.Its very possible that your oil pump could be bad. Those would be the most probable reasons for low oil pressure. The engine shut down means that your your engine has a fail safe to protect your motor from blowing up.

My car battery drained we took out the battery and charged it we put it back on now the car trebles when it idle and 30 seconds later it shuts off then the check oil light comes on. whats wrong with my car

OK, first of all, if the check oil light is on, the oil pump may be worn out causing oil starvation and making it shut off. In addition, the battery being drained will cause even a normal engine to have to relearn how to run smoothly.

But, I would check that oil pressure problem first, Maybe, check the oil level to make sure it is topped off.

Good luck on this repair.

All the oil leaked out while driving and the engine shut off. Does the 06 cobalt have a safety shut down for that?

It should have the fuel pump tied into the oil pressure circuit in series. I believe once the oil pressure drops below 15 psi the fuel pump shuts off.

I have a 2006 Dodge Charger. I got the oil changed last Saturday and then Sunday night, the car shut down after the oil pressure light came on. The mechanics at two different shops said it was the oil...

The engine is toast. So you shut the engine down yourself, or it shut down on its own? Who changed the oil? Was it the correct oil and filter? It appears something isnt right. Make sure the filter didnt come apart and plug up any oil passage. Oil filter companies will help out if indeed their filter caused a problem. Eng may need to be disassembled and the cause found. engines dont just lose oil pressure for no reason.

Exhaust system light is on - 2006 Jetta

What you here running after you shut your car off is just your exhaust fan. Your turbo will not continue to run. As for the oil change effecting the exhaust this may be an issue. IF they actually drained the regular oil and then put synthetic then you should be ok. But if they just put more in on top then they may have messed up your Cat converter...good luck with everything
