You might have to put a different egr valve because sometimes the auto parts store will give you a different one same thing happen to me when i replaced mine and it didn't work I end up buying another one and it worked after I replace it make sure that when you take it out you spray carbutetor cleaner thru the coumbustion holes some times there is carbon build up in there and will make your egr valve malfuntion . good luck.

Ran diagnostics and got trouble codes 12 and 32. Was wondering if this is one problem or two separate problems, and what would they most likely be? My service engine light comes on occasionally and it...

The code 12 is just letting you know that the diagnostic system is working. Code 32 is Exhaust Gas Recirculation(EGR)failure. Check the vacuum source and all vacuum lines. Check the system electrical connectors at the ECM and EGR valve. Replace EGR or ECM if neecessary.

Under hood at the firewall on passenger side bulkhead should observe a set of heater hoses that run off a tee fitting, jump the Tee with a lenghth of same size hose to jump out the rear, if not locate the rear heater core and jump the heater hoses together at the rear by means of an adjustable fitting and two hose clamps.

93 gmc safari 4.3 W engine code on long trips (25) miles the van will not idle and you have to pump the gas to start it but once it cools down and in town short trips it runs fine any ideas ?

The fuel pressure regulator is dumping raw fuel into the engine or the EGR valve is stuck open. Check for a fault code 32 (EGR) and test the fuel pressure for a stable or constant reading. ( Not dropping)

1995 GMC Safari Loses Power when accelerating hard, rough idle

Do you have a check engine light on? Is this a 4.3 with central port injection? If it's running real rich it might have a fuel leak inside the intake, either a fuel pressure regulator leaking or a feed line to the injector.

Service engine light comes on the code is 32 have any idea

DTC code 32 is the EGR valve failure, check the vacuum hose and electrical connection to the EGR. remove the EGR and clean it with carb cleaner. After reinstalling the EGR and if the check engine light still on, you may have to replace the EGR valve. Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted. Be glad to help.

Sounds like the catalyst converter is restricting the exhaust gasses from the engine causing the problem

1995 gmc safari wont run unless pcv is unhooked

try this , take out the THROTTLE BODY or what it looks like a carburator , if you havent clean this part in the past , it acumulates carbon clogging the air lines , your gonna need a new gasket , some clean rags and a can of carb cleaner . good luck

1995 GMC safari V6 When does the timing belt need replacing

sorry i didnt see the TIMING belt in the title -
GMC recommends replacing Timing belt at 71,000 miles....
however your particular vehicle may have a timing CHAIN.

The 4.3L engine is the only engine covered by this guide which uses a timing chain and gear (sprocket) assembly to turn the camshaft. The 2.5L engine uses a direct gear drive (without a chain).

Only replace the chain if after inspecting it - it is worn or damaged!
You don't adjust timing chain-you replace it or the tensioner
