Could you start it before replacing those items? If not try fuel pump and a tuneup from coils to plugs. If it would try looking at the starter or the wires. If not connected correctly the starter cant funtion.

Battery keeps dying

well if the battery is good when you leave it it must have a voltage draw you have to take off one of the leads off the battery and put a inline amp meter to see how much draw..then you use an amp meter a light or buzzer and you pull fuses till the amps go down the light goes out or the buzzer stops depending on what you used.. then you go from there ..your going to need a schematic of the electrical system to see exactly what is off that fuse...or leave it out if you can live without it..interior lights ect

The 'theft system' light does not turn off with the key in the run position on my 1999 chevy cavalier. car won't start, it won't even crank over. the battery and the starter are brand

try locking your car with the key and unlocking it with the key, leave it for 30 second or so between the locking and unlocking , the car thinks some one has tampered with it

98 chevy cavalier turns over but won't start

i know industry jargon can be confusing, but lets try this. if it turns over but won't start, it could be your ''ignition module'' that sits on top of the vave cover on the motor or it might be the fuel pump or filter. make sure when you crank the engine that the key is all the way turned or it may not always make a proper contact to activate the ignition module. iv'e seen this before & had to change the ignition switch & all worked ok after that. i would need to know engine lt size to give you more details on the matter. please get back to me.

Car died at light, tried to start then clicking noise. car started on a jump. then replaced the battery & altenator. later on driving car again. car dies at light tried to start then clicking noise...

Did anybody bother to actually TEST the charging and starting system or are we just replacing parts? This whole thing COULD be caused by something as simple as a bad battery cable connection.

Car starts most of the time but sometimes you have to wait 10 minutes before you try again, gauges always going crazy, car died going 50 mph, battery always tests at 12-13 amps alternator testing always...

your altenator has a built in voltage regulator in the back of it. suggest you replace the altenator to make the problem go away.the car will do all kinds of crazy stuff if it's not getting 12volts all the time, it won;;t get 12volts all the time because the regulator isn't operarating properly.you're running off the charge in battery most of the time because the regulators kicking in @ out after it heats up. hope this helps!!

Starts & shuts off immediately

first is it getting fuel ? try shooting a little gasoline or starting fluid into the air cleaner and see if it will run ? if so it is needing a fuel filter or a fuel pump replaced... thanks and holler if you need more Jerry
