Why does my engine shake on my 2002 KIA Rio while in park and while driving? The shaking goes all the way to the steering wheel?

Hi there.!
  1. This sounds suspiciously like one or more of your engine mounts have deteriorated. If this Is Indeed the case, and It has been going on steadily worsening over time, I would advise you to replace all four.
  2. I often find when having problems with my car, that seeking advice from a local car spares supplier before going to a mechanic can be helpful as they are less Inclined to give the sharp Intake of breath which often accompanies the garage quote...!

Steering wheel shakes when i go a certain speed

the problem is in the front of the may have a tire that has a bad belt in it or you may need the front tires balanced(thrown wheel weight).have the front end checked as there may be a component that is worn that can cause this also.

2004 Kia Rio Timing Belt

Typically timing belts need to be replaced every 60,000 miles, in order to prevent them from breaking or loosing teeth and leaving you stranded, or possibly damaging the engine. I doubt the timing belt is causing your engine vibration issue. I would suspect that a good tune up would take care of that problem.
