I was driving and my 95 olds 98 regency said hot...ac disabled and then the car shut off while driving why?

If it really did overheat, the engine may have shut off as a safety factor. Or the engine could have locked up.

Ac shuts down after long drive then ok again

The expansion valve is not working correctly on the a/c system. It is restricting the flow of freon from the a/c compressor to the condensor. So over a peroid of time driving the line will slowly freeze up and stop the flow of freon and the a/c will stop working completely. Will need to take it to a service center to have the freon gas removed and replace the valve. hope this will help you!!!

Some car does this, when you turn on the AC, the engine automatic gets more juice, but not always, sometimes you have to use your left foot touch your break pedal incase.
