How to fix a check tire light?

Check tire light is a sensor inside the tire indicating if you have the correct pressure in the tire. If it is low on air it will light up, but it will also do it if the sensor is damaged. This can happen when a tire is serviced by a technician who is unaware of the sensor, and accidentally brakes it while removing the tire from the rim. Have the dealer check it.

2008 Toyota Corolla- low tire pressure light came on today. I put 32 lbs of air in all the tires, but light will not go off. How do I fix it?

Look in your owners manual and it should tell you how to re-set the pressure tire sensors. If one will next re-set it's usually a bad sensor. if that is the case the tire will need to be removed to replace the sensor. Hope this helps.

I purchased a 2004 GMC Yukon Feb 7th, and the "service tire monitor" light on the DIC has always been on. What is the problem with it and can it be fixed?

This light comes on when tire pressure is low. Each wheel has individual sensors to monitor tire pressure. You have an issue with one or more of the wheels/sensors. Take it to a reputable repair shop and have the system tested. You may have one or more bad sensors or the vehicle may not have any sensors equipped if the original rims are not installed when you purchased it..

Dashboard tire pressure light is on

The tire pressure sensor light being on (after the initial warm-up/self-test when the ignition is turned on) means one of 3 things: a) you have a tire with low pressure (including the spare), b) one of the tire pressure sensors has a bad battery, or c) the system has a malfunction. First, make sure all tires have good pressure and then have your local dealership/auto shop attempt to reset the fault. If this doesn't work, you are in for a difficult time dealing with the other two issues (batteries are not cheap, and neither is diagnosing a bad system)...sorry!

How to tell which tmps is bad

TPMS, or Tire Pressure Monitering System, tends to be very touchy when it comes to the pressure of the tire. I have seen some sensors not read low until the tire was almost PSI from what it should be, and I have seen some tires read low when they were only 1 PSI low. Are you sure its bad? Although its now standard to have TPMS on all vehicles, most only use a dummy light to show that there is a pressure issue with a given tire. So that could just be the issue here, that a tire is a tad bit low on pressure. I would check that first.

If adjusting the pressure doesn't fix things, your next step would be to take it to the tire shop, as there is no way for the consumer to know which tire sensor is bad, short of seeing the sensor snapped off inside the tire.

Hope this helps!!

How do i fix low tire pressure warning light that will not go away on 1997 lincoln continental. Spare is a donut, so dont think it is involved, I fill tires, and drive 10 minutes and sensor triggers light...

When you "fill" the tires they must be within 3 lbs of each other or the tire pressure warning light will come on. If the tires are "filled" correctly and the tire pressure light still comes on, you may have a tire pressure sensor that has gone bad. You would then have to take your car in to the dealer or tire shop to determine which tire sensor is bad.
Good luck.

2004 4 runner: Low tire pressure warning light is on, even though there is no tire pressure issue. Is this a sensor problem? or maybe the light is not working?

the senors tell you if the tire is low or even if the tire is not low if the tires are off a couple pounds from each other then the light will come on.

How do i reset the low tire pressure light

The only way to reset the low tire pressure light is to fill the tires to the recommended pressure. If all of the tires on the ground are at the proper inflation remember that the spare also has a pressure sensor so you will have to check it also. If one of the tire pressure sensors is damaged from remounting a flat or otherwise it will not send a signal to the low tire pressure module.

Low tire pressure light

problem may lie in the air pressure sensor in the tire. You could go to any place that sells and mounts tires and see if remounting the tire (with) the sensor fixes the problem. This shouldn't cost too much.

Good luck!
